First attempt at On Board Air

I normally post on “what did you do with your Runner today” but this effort took a couple days.
I decided I was tired of digging out my pump from its bag and getting setup to air up. I researched a number of pumps but when I was able to pick a Harbor Freight pump for $50, I decided it would do for now, but I would make a mount that would handle an upgraded pump. And I wanted to know I could create what I wanted before making any big investments.
I’ll let the pictures tell the story. But because there may be questions. I did remove the handle and handle brackets as they weren’t not going to serve any purpose. And I also pulled off the restrictive and proprietary hose connection and added a more common fitting.
My bracket was created with some steel I had laying around and has 3 solid mounting points and is well insulated. I think it is sufficient and I could easily add a 4th mounting bolt.
I’ve created a 2 tire inflating deflating & balancing system with pressure gauge that I can connect to the on board air.

that looks really clean. nice bracket. are you going to run the alligator clips to the battery and manually hook them up each time? I have a 5th gen and was thinking about the exact same type of setup, keeping the alligator clips in case I wanted to take the compressor out.

only problem I have is I have a wire harness that runs right across the the mounting surface that I don't think has enough play to move to the fender side. I think that is unique to the 2010-2013 4runners as I've seen people have that wire harness mounted on the fender side from factory. what did you use to paint the bracket?
 
that looks really clean. nice bracket. are you going to run the alligator clips to the battery and manually hook them up each time? I have a 5th gen and was thinking about the exact same type of setup, keeping the alligator clips in case I wanted to take the compressor out.

Hey Humble Leader, For power I currently have a lead to the battery for connecting a trickle charger. I also have a set of tiny LED lights I wired up on a string and have tiny super magnets attached to. They function as under hood trouble lights and I can also attach via the magnets to provide light for camping or maintenance in the dark. They as well connect to the charger lead. What I like about the lights is they provide good illumination from multiple angles preventing shadows.
So I wired the same connection to the air compressor and thats how I make the power connection prior to operating the pump. See photo.
I used rust-oleum “hammered” paint, it provides good coverage and hides imperfections while providing an interesting appearance.
And FYI, I have no airlocker.
