First ever 4Runner...building it into an emergency response truck

So I've always owned a Ford. I've had an F150, Explorer and a couple Expeditions. I've been saving up to purchase a new vehicle and always bought my wife new Camry's. Well I was Explorer Shopping 2-3 weeks ago and my wife said to drive a 4Runner. So I did. I like the higher ground clearance, body style, and some of the features of the 4Runner versus the Explorer. So we made the leap and bought a new 2016 SR5 Premium (I wanted blue but gave up looking). I'm going to be building it into a response vehicle as I do Emergency Management. Putting in a full LED Package next weekend, VHF/UHF Radios (I haven't figured that out yet, but I'm close. Likely building an oak console mount for them they are a remote mount head unit), DVD Players (for the kiddos), new black rims and likely building a box for the back for all my gear. The remote start gets put in next Wednesday. Taking the one out of my Explorer and putting into this one, I can start it from my phone which is handy.
Here's hoping I like it.

Welcome to the forums. Can't wait to see the pictures of your setup when it is complete. Are you going to put a dual battery system in it?

Sounds like it's going to turn out awesome... Always thought the new explorer police cars were very good looking... Im sure it will look way better on a mean looking 5th gen.

Still trying to wrap my head around a 4Runner POV as an emergency response vehicle...are you responding to incidents from home?

Sorry, that probably came across as negative, wasn't meant to, but as a firefighter, have a hard time understanding. Maybe you can shed some light on the actual use. Certainly a capable vehicle
