As the title says this is my first post so just wanted to say hello and then ask for a little advice.
I've looked around some on here and plan on searching some more but my question(s) is this. I currently have a 1994 V6 Manual that is lacking in power. I'm talking about 3rd gear to drive up some mountain road inclines just to maintain 55-60mph. Even a slight grade causes me to have to downshift into 4th gear to stay at 65 or so. I'm pretty sure this is not normal so I'm looking at options to solve this. I'm thinking the motor is jsut getiting tired. Would I be better off getting a new motor or would a rebuild solve this. Motor has 152000 on her now. I had a 1990 previous to this one with 180000 on the odo and it seemed to have better power although it was also a little weak in the legs. I would like to be able to pull a little weight with it some day.
Also I'm getting about 10mpg all the time so I believe I have a fueling issue as well. I've changed the fuel pressure regulator but it did not seem to fix it. Still smelling a little fuel when starting it up. Any suggestions about any of this stuff would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance and glad to be part of the forum, will hope to contribute as well although I'm only a garage monkey but have had a few yota's over the years......
