First Priority Maintenance On PreOwned 4th Gen

I did some looking for suggestions and used some of my own experience.

But I'm certain I've missed something. Wanted to hear your opinions.

Just bought a 2007 T4R SR5 4WD.
148,000 miles on it.

First thing I did was seafoam everything and get an oil change.

Next up I'm thinking

Diff fluids
Transfer case fluids
Brake upgrade (feels like a warped rotor)
Transmission fluids
Coolant

What else should i do?
What's the order of priority in your book?

Sounds good to me. Just replace stuff as it fails. Wheel bearings will go eventually. Maybe sway bar links. For sure, the radiator cap and plastic overflow tank cap.

I'd be worried about all the ball joints and bushings. They might be fine, but also might not. If it still has the stock springs/shocks, they're probably shot too. But all the other stuff being shot means you couldn't even get it properly aligned.

It sounds like you're off to a good start.

I would change the air filter and the cabin air filter, take off the throttle body and clean it out well, and grease the U-joints and yoke.

When it hits 100K, I'd also do the following:

Change the spark plugs and change the power steering fluid, it's cheap insurance. These are all the things I did when I bought my used 4-Runner.

I just bought an 07 for my son. One thing I would add to your list is to 303 all the seals and window rubber before they totally disintegrate, if they haven't already. Power steering fluid needs changing also. Check the spare and make sure you have all the tire tools and the spare will drip down for you!

V6 or V8?

V6 still utilizes the old copper plugs. Very short 30k life if you go by the book.

Check your HVAC display and control lights too. Bought my rig in daylight, didn't notice I couldn't see any HVAC buttons until later that night.

Otherwise, if it can be changed, change it. We're all fanatics if we're part of a forum, so our rigs should be at least half way decently maintained. If you didn't buy it from a forum member, assume it was on the "its a Toyota, send it!" maintenance schedule (register the VIN on the Toyota's owners website and it'll pull all dealer service records to confirm some data).

+1 on this...
I was pretty luck and a lot of the overall history and the recent couple years before I got mine were all detailed.

Grease them zerk fittings and timing belt if v8 and unverified.
And yank that sunroof fuse out if you have no leaks, and never use it again. :(

PVC Valve. Clean MAF. Obtain 2 spare coils, junk yard OEM is easy budgeting, usually fine, you could swap them in to test it. Run and drive some with all 4wd controls to keep limber.
