First Real Off-Road Run

No sorry no pictures. I was out running around last night and there was the mountain between my and my house. The way back would have been 20 miles and to keep going would have been the same. I knew my general area enough to know my place was only a few miles away, but the mountain was in the middle. I started driving then punched home on my gps. It showed a route over the mountain, however as I drove I found the signs "No Maintenance". How fun. Road was barely wide enough for one car, nothing but snow and ice covered pot holes and it was steep. 2wd didn't work well, but in 4hi I went right through, had to keep it slow because how rough it was, but it handled it like a champ. I was going to try 4lo at one point, wasn't sure how to engage it. I know read the manual. I attempted to turn it on, stopped in park and it kept beeping. Is that normal, or did I need something more to get in.

I just wanted to share my story of this thing off-road. I will be hitting up that road more often.

Congrats, I hope it is the first of many great drives for you.

To put it in 4Lo, put your gear selector in Neutral then change the 4x4 gear selector into 4Lo. Do this at a stop only. You will find that 4lo is really low, and good for when your really crawling.

Also play around with moving your gears into "2" and "L" when in 4hi. You can really dial in the right gear by using those gears in 4Hi and 4Lo.

Have fun, and be safe!
