First Set of Racing Stripes, what a crappy weekend!

Purchased my brand new 2018 4 runner 3 months ago. about 3k miles. Been contemplating the Rausch Creek 101 off road course in PA for a while and intend on doing it at some point. Not crazy about the possibility of damage to the car but understand that's part of the game.

But didn't need to off road to get it's first dings! Wife backed into it this weekend in our driveway while backing out so we could take our ill cat to the vet! Hooray for two deductibles!:rant: Vet bills, deductibles and then our dryer broke too!

And the kicker: She did this to my last car 5 years ago..

Sliders are a great first modification for this reason alone

My Runner is about six months old and it is COVERED in rock rash.... on the bottom where it belongs.

I am super picky about my cars and that would bum me out but.... at this stage in my life, I might not report that and I might not even get it fixed. As mentioned above, now you can drive it and not worry about body damage.

My wife refuses to give up her 2005 Tahoe because it has been beat to heck but still runs well and never actually crashed. Door dings are a non-issue and we can carry the dogs in it, get sand in it from the beach, dirt, and everything else with no worries.

We still have it professionally detailed every six months (we're not pigs) but no longer worry about dirt or minor damage.

That dent is opportunity knocking.

Still sucks though.

It's unbelievable. only excuse is she's a bit off lately due to the cat being sick and.... she's 8 months pregnant

If the car were older I wouldn't get it fixed, but seeing as how it's practically brand new and nearly flawless, it will be going in for repair.

car-part.com Find a pair of superwhite doors. Probably cheaper than a body shop and will be a very good paint match because they're white. Last time I looked the going rate for doors was about $1000 ea. I'm sure the body shop will be more than $2000.

I was pissed for about an hour...then came to terms with the fact that this is a fixable problem and small potatoes in the scheme of things.

But dammit pregnant wife, look when you back up! lol.

First and so far only scratch is from a little, low hanging tree branch, it hit the passenger front window pillar, left a light scratch, do not even know if the scratch is still there, lol.

About 2k miles into owning my 4Runner. I was at the DIY car wash. While attempting to make it look nice I got to close with the pressure washer and the tip skidded along my rear bumper putting a nice gash in it. :shrug:
