First time someone tried to drag-race me...

Might be interesting for those M3'ers out there. Last weekend some teenage dude in an M3 raced his engine as if to suggest he wanted to street race me. I decided to chicken out and let him have his way. It happened during late morning, with the seemingly "drag race" starting at 195th/Bloomfield in Cerritos, as I was about to head home.

I flashed my high beams 3 times at a distance to send him a message.

It's the first time I got challenged to drag race, in my nine driving years.

Why the heck was the guy in an M3 trying to race you in a 4Runner? I guess the hood scoop really does make it more sporty

In this case, you did the right thing because you wouldn't have kept up with an M3 if you were in your 4Runner....

jk... He'd prob get scared of me and think twice about revving his/her engine on me.


Funny thing is I have such a great approach angle now that my gf's civic's front bumper can literally touch my tires before it touches my bumper... (head to head). Kinda scary but funny at the sametime.

It's a good thing you didn't bother to do anything. Kids now a days are just ..... :50cal:

The only thing to do is to drop it into neutral and let them hear the roar of your v8. That should scare them away. If not, make a quick turn off-road and see if they still want to race.

there are a lot of "fast and furious" wannabies out there with there crappy cars. just a few months ago when i was crusin in my cousin's M3, a kid rolled up to us in his 89 maxima. we didn't think anything until he started reving and tried to take off on the green. my cousin was gone as soon as he hit second. a good race though, was on about a 15 mile strip of highway between my other cousin's nsx and some guy's supercharged m3. they both hit about 170. i thought i was gunna die.

This is a late model M3 (E46). Possibly during 2001-3 model years.

For me, i actually get the opposite situation. When i am in my M3 on the highway, these pickup trucks seem to want to challenge me, especially those lowered trucks. It's almost not worth it for me to waste premium gas...almost.

Don't waste your gas on an M3. Next time, just get behind him at the next stoplight and gradually come up on his rear end...until you're about an inch away from his rear bumper. Oh yeah, turn on your high beams! Trust me that will scare the crap out of him!:xnuts:

Where were all these clowns when I had my 5.9 GC? The cool thing about that ride is that you could really blow 'em off bad, and then damage their ride with the parts flying off the Jeep. But it would RUN!

Last night we were coming back from Richmond, traffic was pretty heavy on 4 lane US460. Everybody was doing well & behaving. Caught the last light leaving a little town, and while sitting there waiting, and a woman in a late model Grand Prix turbo pulls up on [my right] shoulder. Are you kidding me? What balls. Everybody else is waiting?? I didn't even look @ her. Made very sure I lighted her, and we were door to door, until her shoulder started narrowing, & she had to tuck back. First time I had ever nailed the new ride & I was quite happy w/it. I was gracious [?] in victory, only yelled "Buy a bigger motor, Bitch!"
