hey guys... first time posting on here.
long story short. i used to have a cadillac cts (was registerred with cadillacforums.com) and then decided to sell it due to going back to school. now i have this 99 4runner that was handed down to me from my family. i love it... 207,xxx miles and still running strong. i went from swirving pot holes in chicago to not ruin my aftermarket wheels to hopping curbs and driving over islands to get to better parking spots. in fact im placing my order for custom plates that that say "run uovr" ... the truck is a beast and a trooper for the long haul.
now that im done with my intro. i need help.... today i woke up and went outside to go to school when i saw a puddle under my car and little drips coming from under the passenger door. there was no smell to the liquid and dried out my fingers. looked at all the resevoirs and noticed that the coolant was bone dry. filled her back up and went to school for about an hour and a half to find it bone dry again so im 99.9% sure its a coolant leak....BUT
since im not familiar with the anatomy of the 4runner i was wondering 3 questions..
1. why would there be a coolant line running to the back of the truck along the passenger side.
2. anyone know of any quick fix its for this leak til i replace the line completely. any temp fixes in otherwards for the next day or two? i dont think those radiator leak fixes they sell at autozone would work considering it seems to be a rusty/ed line (207,000 miles / 12 years old).
3. how much do those coolant lines go for? and whats the tech name for it so i know what exactly im ordering.
its along the chassis on the passenger side, metal line. seems to be leaking well ... coolant fluid. ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. and thank you for welcoming into your community!
