First Toyota

Hey fellas this forum looks great. Hopefully learn the ways of the 4Runner on here. This will be my first foreign vehicle ever and wife will be driving. Im a Chevy truck guy (if your wondering about the screen name....its my motor displacement) so dont bash too hard :cheers:

Actually this vehicle is my Dads as he bought a 2010 last week. Wife has a GMC Jimmy now and its nickle and diming me to death. Everything is new now but Im over it. Dad has only put brakes, shocks, and a starter on this thing and is a great vehicle so I bought it. Its a 1997 Limited. Has new tires and is in PRISTINE condition. Im hoping paying $5800 isnt too much as it has only 14x,xxx miles on it.

Plans include something different for me..... 22's and paint matching some exterior body parts. I know lots here dont like the 22 inch rims but Ive always had lifted trucks and this will be pavement pounder and wifes. Factory wheels for winter.

nice meeting ya. I really dont think 22s are bad if its lifted and that. Theres a guy that put 44s on his. theres a pic of it on the internet somewhere i do believe. those arent to bad of miles i dont think. i bought mine with 204 on the body but only 15 on the engine

Sounds like a sweet truck, price sounds good too. There's a few guys here with big wheels and they look really good.

I've worked on a lot of Mercury 496 HO Magnum engines (boats). Probably one of the sweetest V8s ever made IMO.

Its even more impressive when you run custom tuning on it from EFI Live. No TM at all :bigok:
