So I've got a few quick updates.
Cash has been really tightly lately, so I've been looking around for some cheap or free mods while I'm saving up for the good stuff!
Decided to take off the front mud flaps the PO put on. I didn't dislike them, but I can always put them back on if I decide I like them better on.
I also decided to do the remove elbow mod. It's certainly not ground-breaking power, but considering it was free it was worth it! Definitely a little bit of extra throttle response, and after driving it up a long hill that It normally feels to struggle on, it felt like it made it up no problem.
Additionally, I checked the spark plugs, and they're in great shape. They're iridiums and the wires and plugs both look fairly new!
Any additional cheap mods y'all can think of are always welcome!
As far as future plans are concerned, I have a lot planned.
I plan on lifting, but before I do that, I have to take care of the awful offset on my current wheels. I really like the design on my current rims, but they look awfully spindly, and I'm afraid a lift would only exacerbate that. As far as new rims are concerned, I was looking at the FN Konig Six Shooter's.
Unfortunately, these cost nearly $900.
I found these by Level 8, and they look nearly the exact same, and cost over $300 less.
My only concern with these is how they will hold up off-road being that they are cheaper, but with that being said, I'm sure that cheaper price doesn't necessarily mean they are cheaply made.

Is this the result of taking out that elbow? I've been searching for a while now, but couldn't find a pic like this.
If so, I would do something to seal that hole between the intake and the fender, so it doesn't draw air in from the engine bay, just the fender well.

Yes, that is the result of removing just the elbow. I was thinking the same thing as you. I was considering cutting up my elbow I removed to seal that gap, but I don't know that I want to destroy my elbow just yet in case I need it for the future..

That's a great idea. I've been meaning to go around to some junkyards in my area just to see what there is out there. I have this fools hope that ill come across one with a S/C, and tell the guy its a super fancy intake manifold and offer him 50 bucks. :lmao:

So... I seem to be the king of turning simple jobs into nightmares. I decided I wanted to paint my drums a nice black to cover up some surface rust.. I go to take of the wheels after getting everything I need, and as I get to the LAST lug nut, which happened to a locking lug.... This happens
So obviously I can't get it off now, so I tighten back all the lug nuts, take it to a tire shop, and they charged me $58 to replace them with standard lug nuts!!!!! And I still haven't gotten them painted.. Lesson learned.. Buy my own lug nuts, then take them to the tire shop.

Well I finally finished up painting the drums.
After that awful dilemma involving a broken lug nut, I wasn't exactly thinking about taking pictures, but I did get a few.
It was a pretty straightforward process. All you really need is brake cleaner, sand paper, and high temp brake paint of whatever your color choice is. The passenger drum was stubborn and wouldn't come off, so I had to paint it on the car. I just covered everything around it. The driver side came off with a few taps of the hammer, which made the process much easier.

A much cleaner look IMO. Plus it will help ward away any future rust.

Thanks dude! The ride with the KYB's is excellent! It's actually a better ride than my girlfriends '96 2wd (but that's because her shocks are old as hell).

Whoa. It's been a long time since I've been on here. Money has been tight since we last met, but Christmas was good to me, and it looks like a lift is in the near future. Also, this just happened.

Thanks dude. As far as the lift goes, I already know which coils im going with, but I'm not so sure about which shocks to pick. Which ones have you all had the most success with? If you could provide links I would greatly appreciate it!

So the spacers are on, and I could not be any happier. The improvement in stance is AMAZING. Here are some crappy cell phone pics.

Also I would like to commend Spidertrax for an excellent product. I ordered their "blemished" spacers and saved $20 off per pair, but I could not find a single blemish on them, which goes to show their very high standards. Time will tell how these hold up in the long run, but as of now they provided very simple and easy to understand instructions, and a quality product.

Update on the spacers: drove them 50 miles per the instructions, and took it to Discount Tire to have my wheels rotated and to re torque the spacers. Discount Tire has a policy against working on lug-centric spacers, but they said hub-centric are perfectly fine, so they re torqued them and all is good with them.
