Fishing trip gone awry!!!!!!!

Hello again just figured I would offer everyone a laugh at my expense..... Myself and a couple of friends planned a nice fishing trip early morning nothing too crazy or so i thought.. but wouldn't you know the guy who knows the spot that gets stocked with trout that is less traveled had to back out last minute, so the remaining three of us go foraging in the T4R but of course. Four hours and dismal fishing to say the least we turn to our trusty iPhone for a look at google earth to see what's around my buddy says it looks like there may be something at the end of the dirt road, so off we go. turns out the dirt road just happens to be a service road for the high tension power lines just under 2 miles in I'm up to the bumpers in some thick mud :wow2: thanks to all the wonderful flooding we've had here in RI



snapped off a couple of pics with my phone while looking for branches and random lumbar! Almost two hours later we got her out thank god for brute force and ignorance!!!! now more than ever i realize the importance of the E-locker :ybrick: and I'm officially on the hunt for one so if you hear of one close to RI please keep me in mind TIA also the lift has been pushed up on my list of priorities. All in all we had a great time and figured you all could use a chuckle

Also just to make this post a bit longer and suggestions as to which lift set up to go with would be greatly appreciated BTW it is a 97 SR5 with 2010 SR5 17" stock wheels and tires overall dia 31.6" TY TY TY TY

Looks like you should move tires up on the list too if you are going to be frequenting the mudlands : )

Nice pics! You could go with one of the several other rear locker options out there too, not just the elocker. The elocker is good, but the ARB is stronger and you'll also have on board air along to blow up rafts, mattresses, etc. But the ARB is a little more expensive. Or you could go the cheaper route and get a ratcheting locker like the Aussie, Lockright, or Detriot. If you want a selectable locker, the only choices you have are the elocker or the ARB.

Get an OME lift and some BFG AT's, you'll love it and the fish won't be able to hide from you.

thanks for the input honestly mudding isn't something I plan on doing often, I definitely didn't plan this one but i have considered duratracks or bfg AT ko but that will be after some miles on the current rubber. Also i am more interested in selectable lockers so i will be looking into the ARB setup thanks brian. (4)runnin'it i do like the color i don't see to many like mine, once i finish blacking it out it should look even better. And molson you are absolutely right the fish are secondary

man, this almost happened to me the other day at Assunpink Lake!

I went there to get a few casts in and try to catch a bass or 3, but discovered that there are trails all the way around the lake...

It was just me, and I wasn't there for off-roading, but I decided I'd try some of the easy looking stuff. (mostly some shallow water/mud pits) So it was a pretty leisure drive with me just exploring and seeing what was there....

I came up to this one water pit that looked about a foot deep or so, but when I drove in, all the ground was deteriorated in the pit already! I was about 30 degrees tipped to my right and the mud water had to have been at least 2-3 feet which I've never experienced before! I started panicking since I couldn't drive through it the first time and had to reverse a few times, and my sunroof was open so mud came flying in haha

I got out of it and my adrenaline was pumping like crazy :bravo: the whole side of my truck was covered in mud too :banana:

I worked at a marina for years, but I've never seen one go in truck 1st! I've seen a few trucks go to pull the boat out, lose traction and slide in the water backwards, but this takes some really special ret*rd skills. haha.

My favorite is when they are so caught up in just getting the boat on the trailer that when it's finally on and tied down, they forget to shut off the motor and overheat a mile or 2 down the road! haha. Sucks, but it's funny.
