Hello I’ve came across a used rock ripper 3rz header . On the fitment it states it’ll fit

1995.5-1998 3RZ 2.7L Tacoma Engines (4x4)
1995.5-1998 3RZ 2.7L 4Runner Engines (4x4)

I have a 1999 Toyota 4Runner 3RZ 2.7 2wd . I’ve seen several people do the Tacoma mini header swap . I was wondering if this will fit my 4runner without any issues ? Also it’s CARB legal since I live in California

Here’s the link to the product

Rock Ripper Tacoma 2.7L Header (95-98) (4x4) (50 State Legal)

Thank you

I've had headers on a couple RZ motors. I can't recall the specifics, but the factory downpipe/exhaust in front of the cat is different somehow between Tacomas and 4Runners. I think it may have been that the Tacoma had a two piece design between manifold and cat, where the 4Runner was all one puce from the manifold all the way back behind the cat.

Looks like I remembered correctly. On a Tacoma there would be a 2 bolt flange right in front of the cat and that's where the header would bolt up. Not a huge deal as any competent exhaust shop can add that flange for you to mate up the header, but that is added cost so you'll have to decide if it's worth it.
