FJ / 5100 install rear spring not seating

Hey Guys,

So finally got around to doing this and after getting in the fronts I ran into a problem with installing the rear FJ springs. They just will not go down on the lower mount. I measured and it seems like its almost a 1/4 inch smaller.

I confirmed with the seller that it's from a 2007 FJ 4x4.

Any ideas ? Any help is appreciated.

Since you have pictures here, lets go with this thread. I'll delete the other one.

My guess is that since the springs have been sitting since 07 uninstalled, maybe they just need to be coaxed into place a little bit. Maybe you can use a pry bar to expand the opening a little bit?

I've spoke with Shift via PM....I've not seen anything like this. Of all the FJ swaps that have been done, I can't recall anyone that has had issues even remotely similar to this.

I tried convincing it in with a mallet but its pretty stubborn. I'll try to get something to widen it and keep you guys updated. Thanks again for the input.
