Does this FJ Cruiser skid plate fits 4Runner?

Why would you need one except for looks??

If you look under front of your 4R you'll see that there is huge gap between bumper lip and radiator. If you hit the mudhole or snow bank, bottom of radiator gets pressed in and cracks. Even light duty skid plate that fills that space is a protection. And hell, it also looks good as mentioned before.

I like the look too, it looks really similar to the Tocoma skid plate.

I might take the plunge soon and order the Tacoma skid and try to modify it to the 4R. The cheapest I found was $151

Does anyone know the materials of either skid? The Taco looks to be aluminum and the FJ looks like it's plastic.

I like the Taco one better, and was thinking the same thing. I'll wait until I get the bullbar mounted and ask my buddy over in parts to see if I can get a Taco one and check if it can be modded to fit. If not I could give it to my dad for his Taco.

I do wonder if the taco one would fit on a 3rd gen.

could always do some fabricating

I think there's a dedicated one for the 3rd gen. I've seen newer 3rd gen Sport with one recently. But I think it's really short and doesn't extend very far back, like the one above.

Size shouldn't matter since all these plates are just for looks anyway and don't truly offer protection. I have the Tacoma brackets as opposed to the actual '02 Sport ones so I fabbed some extenders to fit the plate perfectly to hug the front lip of the bumper. And when in place you can't tell how short the plate is and it looks nice.
