i installed fj cruiser front springs today. the truck sit really nice im super happy with it. took me about 1hr and 1/2. no problems at all. i work in a shop so i have a spring compressor. i measured before and after . the springs gave me about a 1 1/2 in of lift. leveled out nice. i will try to post pics tomorrow. this is my first time posting a thread. been on here a while looking and learning. i really love my 4runner. i have had a couple , but this is the nicest. got the prings on ebay for a 1.00 plus shipping ( couldn't pass then up ).

What year? 2wd or 4wd? What kind of miles on your rig?
I too have FJC springs, I love them! The extra stiffness is just right to me. I have less dive while braking, better handling and it's never what I'd call "too stiff".
What's your measurement like this (center of the hub to the lip)? I ask 'cause this dimension eliminates the 'tire factor'.

im not sureright now. i really like the way it sits. i may try fj rear springs just to see what it does. i might just make the rear a little stiffer. the front spring really stiffened up the front. when i had them side by side. they were a little bigger , not much. there were definitly more coils. anyway im hoping to get old man emu kit eventually. im not a huge space fan. i have a spacer but im going to sell it. it is a 1" or 1 1/2" space , not sure. id rather lift with springs if possable. i have always used springs on my other 4runners and tacoma

The rear springs are great. The rear lifted minimally; 1/2". The FJC rear springs are exactly the same length as T4R rear springs. They just compress less when the vehicle is let off of the jacks.
The thing I like best is the FJC springs handle a little weight much better; less rear end sag and a better ride when loaded. When it's empty the ride is nowhere near harsh.
My sig has links. A few others have done it too.

A guy wants to sell a new Adjustable Bilstein(front), he said that I can adjust it to 1"(although it can go up to 2.5) if I only need to level the front and recommend it over the spacers..
Will the bilstein Adj. be compatible with the FJC spring?? (sorry I'm not mechanically inclined)
Also when moving the springs in the Bilstein Adj to get the desired height, isn't it a "preload already" that will make the ride more stiffer?

1) If the price is right do the Bilsteins. A guy at T120 used them and he and I have PM'd a good bit; he really likes them. He ran them on the 1" and the 2.5" (IIRC). Plus you get to start with 'fresh', premium shocks.
2) Yes. If a level is what you want the 1" setting and 4FJC springs will probably do it just right. It'll have a slight rake unloaded and handle weight very well.
3) Yes, in theory. IMHO you have to have really soft springs and large amounts of pre-load to negatively affect ride. I believe it's a 'real thing'. I also think it's less of an influence than some claim.

I blame CJ3Flyr too! Yesterday outbid & won 3 auctions on eBay to pick up the FJ Cruiser springs along with the Toytec spacer.
thanks. not sure what tire or size to get. i will run these throught the summer them get something. thinking about getting wheel spacers as well.i like wheels and tired out a little not sure on that yet. do you know if fj front and rear shocks will work on the 4runners. looking to upgrade my shocks for bilsteins. but havent seen then anywere for the runner. had them on my 95 they were great shocks. a little pricy but well worth it.

The FJC shocks fit. A takeoff set of the TT's would be nice. It's my understanding they help the rear a bit as they are a bit longer and offer better articulation. Bilstein makes normal shocks and the Bilstein 5100 height adjustable ones for the T4R and FJC (which are interchangeable).
