FJ springs

Will all model years of the FJ crusier coil springs work with a 2004 4runner? I have a set of 2010 springs and need to know if they will work.

2007-2009 FJ models have direct swap with 4R. But 2010 FJ springs are a little different and will need a little mod (not a direct swap)

The 2010 FJC springs will work perfectly! I just installed a set in my '06 Runner.

I have not confirmed this, but it's the lower shock eyelet on the 2010 FJ stuff that needs to be modified.

Well, I found a set of 2007-2009 and a set of 2010. I have 5100s to put on the 4runner with the shocks. Is any one year better than the other? What are the benefits of installing these springs? Right now my plan is to add 5100s all around and airbags in the rear because I do a lot of towing. I just started searching for FJ coils and it seems a lot of members put them on their 4runners. So is there really an advantage?

07-09 4wd springs are all the same. 2010 4wd springs are beefier from what I hear. Both will be a direct swap to the 4th gen 4runners. The 2010 shocks won't fit the 4th gen 4runner without some modifications, the 07-09 shocks are a direct swap.

I have a set possibly, just have to agree to buy them. Is there any difference in which side is which? I have ordered some 5100s to put on as well, and probably will set the front at .85 Will this be too much? Also looking on e shocks.com I noticed they have the 5100s, but only for 07-09. Is there any difference between 03-09 as far as suspension goes? I may order these shocks because they are slightly cheaper and offer free shipping.

I went ahead and bought some FJ springs. I have the airlift 1000 and 4 bilstein 5100s on the way as well. I figure doing this will give me the look I want and I will be able to go up 1 tire size. I will post pics when I have it finished.

Just a question up in the air about FJ springs. Is there a way to confirm the FJ springs if they are 4x4 or 2x4? I know there is colors that determine the driver's and passenger's side, but if you order a set from somebody how can you tell that they are from a 4x4? Or all the springs the same on 2x4 and 4x4 models?

Springs are most definitely different between the two. You could tell if comparing side by side, but I have no idea how to tell from a pic of one. The 4x4 is what everyone is using.

4x4 is what everybody wants yes. But is there a way to tell if what is advertised is what you actually receive? I just paid for a set of FJ springs a couple days ago. The guy said they came from a 07 FJ 4x4 but how can I be sure he's honest in what he sells? Since 90% of people buying FJ springs will be purchased from an individual who's upgraded his OEM FJ cruiser instead of a dealer.

Hey Lew,

Out of curiosity, where'd you get your FJ springs? I'm looking for a set as well.

Thanks!

I got them from the fj forum. I just put a post looking for a set and had responses instantaneously. I paid 115 for them and they are supposed to have less than 5k miles and they are from a 4x4. The person is also labeling which side is which. I just hope they are what I want or I am out 115 dollars.

For the front springs, the taller one goes on the driver-side... it will be obvious.

You definitely won't be out the $115... you could sell them pretty quickly! Seems like there are a few guys out there looking for these.

It's a substantial improvement in ride quality... I love my set-up!

Once I get everything, I will post before and after pics. I am going to continue with the stock tire size until they wear out, then I will go up on size. I am going to have my local mechanic whom my family has been using for the last 30 years do the install. I could do it myself, but for what he is going to do it for it will be worth it.

I found a set on Craigslist. The guy claimed they were from a 07 FJ 4x4 and included factory Bilsteins for $150 shipped. I ordered them, and paid, last friday. Its now thursday of the next week and I havent received even a shipping tracking number. I e-mailed the guy yesterday and he said "They were sent on Monday, let me get you the tracking number". One day later, still havent heard from him.

I find it odd that he cant provide shipping information since I myself just shipped a product via UPS and they gave me the tracking info on the spot.

What do you think I should do? I paid via paypal.
