fj steel rims on 4runner

Just wondering if FJ Cruiser steel rims would bolt up OK on my 07 Runner. I was thinking of mounting an extra set of tires to use in snow, off road etc. Both are a six lug pattern. I was also wondering if they would fit OK under the fender wells with 265-70's. I don't want the wheels sticking out past the fender wells. Any advice or photo's would be appreciated.

You don't have to worry about the tires sticking out past the fender wells, especially on a 2006 or later 4Runner. Have you noticed how far in the tires sit on the '06 and '07 4Runners?? The larger fender flares make the wheels appear very far in compared to the '03 to '05 4Runners.

The FJ wheels will work fine. Other people have posted pics with factory FJ wheels on their 4Runners.
 
the Fj wheels will help with the bigger tires as they have a different offset. I don't think that I could run my Ltx M/S on the stock rims without some significant rubbing. I'm using the gunmetal sequoia rims and I still get a little rubbing at full lock and they have the same offset as the FJ, which is 10 mm different than stock.
 
Thanks for the input. I've searched the site for pictures but have been unable to locate a 4th generation 4runner with fj steelies. If anyone finds one I would really appreciate a link to the photo or the name of the person who posted it. Thanks!
 
The alloy rims will fit fine. They are 17".

EDITED POST - I am clueless about the steel wheels

that's not correct... the steel rims are 17" on the FJ. 17's are standard because they all come with the bigger breaks and would not work with a 16.

BTW, someone on here has posted a picture in the past of their Runner with the alloy's. I want to say it was Salsa Red. Do a search, I'm sure you'll find it. I don't recall seeing a runner with the steelies though.

There's a Salsa red with the Tundra/Sequioa rims. The 4Runner with the FJ wheels is white. I'll have to see if I can find the pics.

Do you have any pics down the side of your 4Runner? I'd like to see how close to flush your tires are with the fender flares with the FJ wheels.

Can you post a pic like that? I'd appreciate it.
 
Thanks....they look good. Now I have to find a deal like you did! I don't see anyone selling a set of 5 for $350 on ebay though...

Funny, I knew you would chime in on this discussion. Your pic is what made me decide on those wheels vs a Tundra wheel. Mine, however will be painted shadow mica tomorrow.
 
The gunmetal TRD FJ wheels would also look good.. I'm thinking on a darker colored runner like black or dark galactic gray (or whatever it's called). Unfortunatley, I have a silver runner and I dont think the offsetting of silver vs. gunmetal looks too nice.

do you mean your gonna paint the FJ wheels. I'd like to see how that turns out. post pics if you can. I was looking for the dark sequoia wheels but couldn't find a good deal, so now i'm thinking of doing a powdercoat on the fj wheels i already have.

They are now painted. Check the link on my signature. I have them mounted, and will post additional pics, but first, I need to give it a bath.
