FJ Transitioned into the big sister the TRD PRO 4R

Hello all,

Yesterday I traded in my 12' TT FJ for her big sister, the TRD PRO 4Runner. I've named her Stryker. I'm excited and ready to see how she does in comparison to my FJ on the trails. So far Stryker drives like a Bentley compared to my FJ.
I was able to keep some armor and my Icons from my FJ so I'm currently debating if I'm going to install my Icon Stage 2 lift now or wait a bit. Any pros and cons? I will eventually start a build page, I had a good following on my FJ page, especially one built by a girl. Lol.

I'm looking forward to the community!

I was on the fence as well. Mainly between the white and inferno. Coming from a flashy color I kinda wanted another flashy color like the inferno. But... the white is still awesome! Plus, I got a pretty good deal and it's one of few left in TX (this week anyways).

I too came from a 2008 FJ TT to 4runner. Loved the FJ, but wanted more creature comforts without sacrificing off road ability. T4R for the win!

I got $30k for the FJ (my bajarack, ladder, single hoop DO bumper with lights, and my sound system went with the truck.). I pulled my Icons, skids, wheel spacers, and other odds and ends. Time to sell and start the 4R mods. [emoji2]

Much to the chagrin of FJ faithful (I had an 07), the 4Runner pretty much does everything better.

-better visibility
-better drivetrain
-better engine
-comfier and nicer interior
-same aftermarket off road parts due to a mostly shared platform
-better windshield
-better back seat
-better utilization of space
-better handling
-better everything

That's good to know. I was missing my FJ pretty bad last night. It was my first pride and joy. I knew it's limitations and I wasn't scared of anything.
I already find myself scared to scratch the paint. Lol. I do see myself taking a little better care of this one, less tree's anyways. Lol.. I've got to get used to the carpet! Currently deciding on the best mats. Lol...

I already find myself scared to scratch the paint. Lol. I do see myself taking a little better care of this one, less tree's anyways. Lol.. I've got to get used to the carpet! Currently deciding on the best mats. Lol...

Thank you. I loved the Fj. But we needed something with a little smoother ride. I wouldn't of chosen anything other than another nice ride, like the TRD PRO. I know, I'm lame. I like my limited editions though.
I cannot wait to start my mods. I've gotta sell a few fj items, then it's on!

I love the TRD Pro 4runners. Just saw an inferno orange in my neighborhood this week.

I own an FJ and a 4runner. IMO, the FJ has better off-road capability, i.e., shorter wheel base, better approach/departure angles, available with 6-speed manual trans, and easier to modify with off-road accessories. The FJ is a dedicated off-road vehicle with adequate street manners; 4runner is more of a street vehicle (more bells/whistles, more room, and more comfortable) with good off-road manners.
