FJ vs 4R Engine Compartment

Since the FJ and 4R seem to share a lot of similarities, I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of the differences between the layout of the FJ and the new 4R engine compartments. Read: I want to use some of the mods I see FJ peeps doing. For example, snorkel, filters, rerouting quip. As I have yet to get the 4R and never owned an FJ, anyone have diagrams? pictures? I like planning things out :) I tried doing some quick research and came up fairly empty handed. Was hoping for some of you much wiser folks would have more info or could point me in the right direction.

Great find Mike! Did you see that guys build link where it says meet the raptor?
That's the baddest FJ I've seen and something to shoot for with the 4Runner mods.

To the OP....The 2010 FJ and 2010 4Runner share the same engine but it's different then 2009's and earlier V6's.

So then would you say that the compartment layout would be roughly similar if they're using the same engine?

Very Simular!
First is the 2010 4runner.There are some better engine pics somewhere here on the forum. Here's one. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...n-t4r-owners-picture-thread-4.html#post479970
The second one is the 2010 FJ.
What do you have in mind for engine bay mods?

Mostly water/mudproofing. But there is also a lot of very neat things the FJ does by design or that the FJ people have had time to figure out that I'm interested in doing.

To be honest, I'm still split on the FJ and the 4R. They're both great vehicles. I just have to decide if I want to give up the extra cargo space and comfort for a vehicle that has a lot more goodies to play with and extra headroom.

Decisions decisions.
