FJ wheels ?'s

Are there different types and sizes of FJ wheels ?

16" or 17" I also thought there were different finishes. Like a brite Alum. and a gunmetal color ?

Might want to get some for a change.

They are wider and a different offset correct ? so they might be more even with the fender flare ??

The 4r Sport rims are what width and offset compared to the FJ wheels ?????

How much would I expect to pay for a set ? Should I get 4 or 5 ?

AFAIK, there are only three kinds - the 16 inch black steel wheels, the 16 inch TRD alloys (gunmetal color), and the 17 inch alloys. The conventional wisdom is that 16 inch wheels will not fit on a Sport or Limited, due to the larger brakes. So, you're stuck with the 17 inch alloys.

They are the same width as your sport wheels, which is 17x7.5.

The offset is 15mm, as compared to the 30mm offset on the stock wheels. This means each wheel sticks out 0.6 inches farther, for a 1.2 inch increase in track width.

I got a set of 5 for $350 plus shipping off eBay without much trouble. Now that the FJs have been out longer, you could likely get them significantly cheaper. A set of 5 can often be had for not much more $$ than a set of 4, so I recommend a set of 5.

actually, I think only the sport gets bigger brakes. that is why 17" wheels are standard. I think the SR5 in '05 came stock with 16's.

SR5, all have the smaller rotors. SR5 have 16" rims standard, although most come with the optional 17" rims.

SE, all have the bigger rotors. Supposedly the same size as the GX.

Limited, some members reported having the bigger SE sized rotors. I haven't gotten around to measuring my rotors. Probably the easiest way without take the wheel off is to measure the edge of the rotor to the rim (and then measure the inside diamter of the spare and take the difference).
