Hey guys, i just bought a 2011 4runner trail, magnetic grey.
This is my first Toyota and I must say I NEVER wanted to own a Toyota, except when I was a kid and I loved the black Toyota truck from Back to the Future!
Until this past saturday I was the proud owner of a 2007 Nissan Xterra SE 4x4. My Xterra was a great truck (I imagine some on here will think otherwise), and it served me well, taking the wife and I from Florida to Vermont and back during ski season, offroad in the mountains of NC, and many places in between.
Although I told myself I would hold onto the X for a long time, after 2 1/2 years, we found ourselves needing more room, and a little better ride. The 4runner seems to have that, and much more.

Long story short, I am excited about the new truck! I hope to learn a few things on this forum, like I did on thenewx.org.

Any things I should be concerned about with the new ride?

I don't remember you, but I was on TNX for about a year!

I downgraded to a 3rd gen (although in my mind it ended up being an upgrade in most areas).

Anyway, welcome! :D

I was a TNXer for a while, myself. I picked up a 2010 Off Road and had it for about 7 months before I couldn't handle the awful ride and crampedness of it anymore. I also missed having a truck, so I ended up with a 2010 Ford F-150 SuperCrew FX4.. Plenty of room and lots of comfort.. though I secretly still wish a 4Runner would work for me.

I'm sure it is a nice ride. Welcome!

thanks guys. I'm happy with the 4runner so far, just need to find some good floor mats and a way to protect the cargo area from the dogs!

Hi. Not from Florida, but, i did have an '02 xterra se 4x4, just traded it in for my 4runner. You mentioned weather mats, I'm sure you have already seen this, as i've seen you post here and there. weathertech or husky liners are the way to go. Liners are different than mats. I personally bought the weathertechs a few weeks back. I like them, they cover a lot and i'd recommended them to others. Good luck

thanks Johnny, looking into weathertech, just trying to find the best price and not have to wait 3 weeks to get them.

my old Xterra.....

Very nice! In regards to the floormats, I had Cabelas TrailGear2 custom fit mats in my Xterra that were made by WeatherTech (and 100% identical) and I received them within a week of ordering them. Prices were comparable, as well.

Welcome! I live in Tallahassee, but my parents are in Naples, and I visit there a few times a year. What part of south florida are you in? Probably east side, eh?
