We are headed to the Smoke Mountain Overland Rally next week, so I'll be off the grid for about 3 weeks after this weekend. If you can swing tomorrow morning, text me. We are leaving Tampa at 0800 and will be done riding by noon.

Got the PM. I’ll definitely let you know when I have a free Saturday to go wheeling. I haven’t looked at the Georgia Traverse in depth but I have heard a lot about. It’s a possibility at some point.

Hey Everyone, I’m in Orlando and have been looking for some people to start going riding with. I have a friend with a 4R as well, and it’s just been us so far. I’d like to get some kind of a regular group together for the central Florida area that does regular meets and rides. I have a lot of extra curricular professional stuff going on right now but i will always make time for fun. I don’t have a facebook account so i cannot connect with the group mentioned above. Please let me know if anyone is down to ride or already has something like this going on!

Hey guys, Tampa area here (Riverview specifically), it’s too bad I’m just now finding this thread as I celebrated my 2018 ORP’s first bday this past weekend. I’ve been looking to connect with some 4Rs to hit the trails with. I went out to Croom and Citrus recently and did pass a Toyota convoy of about 7 vehicles that was kinda neat bc most were “overlanded” out. My buddy has a Taco and will be getting AT put on it soon. Also the guy who recently bought my spare was out of St. Pete and he had a Taco and is also looking for a group to join.
Anyway, I like to hit the trails and to camp – but would like to start doing both the same day. For example I’d like to hit Chassahowizka soon as I hear they have some scenic trails, and then camp either there or at Homossassa Wildlife Management. If you search “Overland Florida” on YouTube this guy who lives in Lakeland and owns a Taco hits a lot of trails and campgrounds in Central FL, so I’ve gotten some good ideas by watching his channel.
I did “apply” to join the aforementioned facebook group, but I’m never on that site. I am on IG (tampa_bay_trd_orp), but find it’s not the best place to organize meet ups, which I would be open for depending on distance and date. Hopefully we can get something going on this thread!
Also, I wanted to thank [MENTION=178074]straitR[/MENTION] for your #255 post. I will be getting to Ocala eventually and have just downloaded this app.
I’ve sub’d to this thread in case we get some action!

I’m in South Florida as well...Pembroke Pines. Seems like this section is getting some action again. Maybe we can get something going especially when it gets to camping season. During the fall and winter we (my family and I) try to get out to Bear Island in Big Cypress for some weekend camping trips. I’ll post up when we go out.

Along with the Florida 4runners Facebook group also check out “Florida Overlanding, Camping, Off-Roading” Facebook group. The guy from Overland Florida is in the group as well as some other good people who get out a lot.

Hey bud, I am in Plant City. I am the one who started Florida 4Runners on Facebook years ago. You can get there by going to Security Check Required there are always people in the group willing to go on a ride, even some during the work week or at night. Join the group, we would be happy to have ya!

Thank you awthorn, I submitted a request sometime within the past week and it looks like I can view the group now. My name is Glenn, but as I mentioned I’m never on FB. Hell, my profile pic is me without a beard so it’s been quite awhile! Anyway, it seems FB is the best medium to organize a get together / meet up so I’ll check in every once in awhile to see if there are any upcoming events. Thanks for the invite.

Just find this site, I live in Tampa area. love to ride in ONF. Need your help.
Just finding this section of the forums. Central FL here, Mt. Dora area. I live about 15 minutes from ONF and hit it regularly with two buddies and our families. Happy to join any runs or show anyone around ONF.
Anyone new to the area, or considering a trip to ONF, you should really download the free iOS app "Avenza Maps". You can then search inside the app and download (also free) "Motor Vehicle Use Map Ocala National Forest". It will show you every legal road, trail, or area in ONF, and track as you go like any other map app. Aside from being an excellent navigation tool, it will also prevent you from venturing off into places that will get you a near $400 ticket.
The normal crew, from a few weeks ago... Two '18 TRD OR's and a '16 TRD Taco.
