Flasher mod that might work for us

This is cool, thanks for sharing. My mom's BMW X3 has it and I really like it, but definitely a little pricey. besides, who uses blinkers anyway!

Doesn't fit.

I just ordered one. In fact I'm waiting to ship it back. Apparently if you have the DTRLs it’s a different plug. The TapTurn flasher is for non DTRL 8 pin plugs. The DTRL vehicles have a 12 pin plug. After talking to the company they are going to drop support on the 4Runners due to different markets requiring different DTRL rules.

Ok. I'll open myself of to be flamed, but when I read this all I could think was :jaw drop:

Has it really come to this? Just poke out your little finger and it will turn on and off your blinker when you turn your wheel to change lanes. Sorry for those who think I'm being a jerk, but this is just one step closer to setting yourself up in a floating chair, a la, WALLE.

Are we really this lazy?

Let the bashing commence......

I had the single tap turn signal on my list of mods to do. I actually looked into retrofitting a Chrysler flasher several years ago but never pursued it.
Thanks, I'll have to check it out.

This is something someone who possibly works construction could use if they were in a high traffic area for better visibility (if they got the strobe pack). I have driven a BMW with the 3 blink then shut off feature. It was annoying at first but after getting used to it I liked it. Also this acts as a LED relay as well so you don't have to deal with the inline resistors.

no bashing from me. I agree, but the reason i posted it is because if you read the entire post about the flasher control, it allows you to make you turn signals strobe and it could be a fix for those of us with LED turn signals.

the lane change thing i don't care about, but there are several 5th and 4th gen guys that have been trying to figure out how to compensate for the rapid blink of the LED bulbs.

Probably different (I have a 3rd gen) but when I installed led turn signals I replaced the flasher relay with a Tridon EP 35 relay from autozone. It fixed the hyper blinking issue for 11 bucks. Any 4th or 5th gen guys try it?

I've tried.

Yes I have please view the 3rd post. It doesn't work.

I think Slow_T4R meant trying the Tridon EP 35 to fix the hyperblinking.

As for the TapTurn relay, thanks for trying. I was getting my hopes up. Oh well...
