Flat Silver - Paint Protection Film

New Pictures on page 2!

I'm turning my silver paint job into flat silver. I am changing my limited 4runner into a TRAIL edition 4runner and having everything flat silver and flat black. The wheels, hood, roof, and spoiler are going to be flat black. here is the project start. I removed the door handles and roof rack and took them to the body shop to get painted. What do you guys think?

I would definitely like to see pictures of this build!!

If you haven't already, find a image hosting site like photobucket and upload all of them up there. Then you just need to either copy the url link of the picture from photobucket (its been a while so I don't remember exactly everything) and then just hit the insert image icon when you are creating a post (looks like a mountain picture in yellow and gray), then just paste the URL and they should show up.

I like my silver shiny. But I might do my roof and hood in flat black when I get my rack. I need to paint my door handles too but I will color match.

Oh and post a bigger pic so we dont have to click on a link.

Hard to tell from the pics what you did to the drivers door.
Did you wrap it in flat clear or paint it with flat clearcoat?

Wrapped it in ventureshield clear flat film. Its hard to tell unless you see it in person. It will be completly wrapped from head to toe. No seems on any panel and all edges wrapped. it will look like a paint job when I get done. It will look awesome with the flat black handles, trim, wheels, and trail edition kit. I also have a few other things up my sleeve that no one has done on the 5th gen 4runner. Thanks for the help by the way Harper7! Stay tuned, a lot more to come!

Yes it will definitely protect the paint! But look cool at the same time. I will be running the limited wheels with 1.5" spacers and 275 55 20 nitto trail grapplers.

Curious though, what's the price associated with doing the entire 4Runner in the plastic sheets?

It costs about $600 dollars and about 20 hours of time! I do it for a living but it would normally cost between $4-6g's

What color would you do your hood? Just matte finished or black?

Seriously, why would someone use the film vice just repainting for that price? I guess the fact that it's reversible would be the only logical reason IMO?

Plus it is more durable then paint and a lot easy to replace if damaged! Try color matching flat paint, near impossible to get perfect.
