Floor mat color.

So the debate in the house had been about what color of weathertech floor mats to get. My 06 sport has gray carpeting and of course the black seats. I say black mats while the spousal unit says gray. I know the gray won't match any other shade of gray in the 4Runner but she said gray carpet, gray mats. So my wife actually said to ask the forum.

Black goes with gray seat, black seats, and the light stone if you ever want sell them or put them in another T4R. More options.

I have the tan/black interior and went with black weathertechs.

I've got an '07 sport with the same grey carpet/black seat combo and I went with black weathertech. I have no regrets - looks great. I didn't get the cargo liner but I think I would get that in grey to match the seatbacks/double-decker...not 100% sure...but definitely black in front/rear seats.

I had the black, didn't like them and switched to gray. The gray is almost a perfect match to the carpet and trim pieces and looks great. I prefer the brighter interior appearance, it makes the inside feel bigger.

I have tan all weather mats on a tan interior and I don't like them, I would go with black.

I'm sorry. What I meant to say was gray is absolutely awful, smells like rotten turnips and costs $721 more than black. Get the black.

It's funny because I clicked this thread wondering if it was about gray vs. black Weathertechs. My story is exactly the same as both of yours. I wanted black, spouse said gray. Got black, figured out spouse was right because the black just clashes badly with the surrounding carpet and trim. It's too much contrast to look good. Also consider that just like a black exterior, black mats look great when they're perfectly clean, which means the two or three minutes right after you clean them. Then black shows every speck of dust.

Got the gray and am very happy with the look. Plus, it takes a real man to say, "You know what? You're right" when the situation calls for it.
