If hes willing to start somewhere, its progress on my book and I applaud it. I mean very few other NRA backed politicians would do anything to harm their A ratings.

Also I cant quite figure you out. You are a sportsman, but open to reasonable gun control. Seem intelligent and well informed but dislike both Obama and Trump...some kind of unicorn. Or did I misread everything?

it's almost like maybe there are millions of us

Guns are severely restricted in Japan, but in 2016 nineteen people were killed in a knife attack. It's a people problem, not a gun problem.
I could kill a lot of people simply by mixing two very common household chemicals.

They also have a murder rate sub 1 per 100000. 5-15 times less than the us. Mass murders in Japan happen ~2x a decade. And those 19 were the most people to die at one time from murder in Japan since WWII. That’s an average Tuesday for us. I would not have chosen Japan as your example.

he targeted mentally disabled people in their sleep. mass killings in japan are pretty rare, and the times stabbings have happened they are mostly injuries (because, and this might be a big shocker, knives aren't as deadly as rifles with high capacity magazines).

that event was their deadliest mass killing since WWII

compared to how rare they are in japan, 19 people wouldn't even have been our deadliest mass killing in the past year. since WWII we've had at least 7 shootings with more than 19 deaths (and a lot more with close enough to it)

guns are deadlier than knives, maybe ask someone to take you shooting sometime if that is in doubt

I'm responding to this thread just for this.
If it was a literal crap shoot, I can think of no better way to distract a mass shooter. Maybe we should all get in on this.
:toilet:

Please do not take my words out of context. also you are objectively wrong, if you do the research. Unless by "distraction" you mean an increased body count.

There are quite a few gun owners, like myself, who get really pissed off at the NRA and others who can portray us as gun nuts. That being said I am a member of the NRA not to hear their propaganda BS but to get their magazines because I like to read about hunting stories, or read a historical piece on some military guns from wars past. They can actually write some good stuff when those are the topics. I hunt in Northern MN, my family owns land, we built our own shooting range because we weren’t a fan of the one local to us. I also own 2 AR-15s, one I use to hunt coyotes and the other is a .22 cal plinkster to shoot cans and bottles with. If they want to expand background checks, raise the minimum age, or whatever; I’m ok with that. As long as it’s reasonable I will support it. Their needs to be progress on all fronts and gun owners need to give up some things for the good of the country. I voted for trump too. Did I like him then? No. Do I like what he’s done in office? Not one bit. I had hoped that he would have been able to at least act presidential but that really just went out the door when he was inaugurated and claimed to have the largest crowd ever! It was bigly. Please someone take his phone away.

Then come to the forefront. I have met far too few like you and e60 that are open to reason and far too many like landcruiser and choader that can only spout NRA talking points.

You understand you are still funding their nonsense lobbying though, right?

I am not an NRA member, but I am a member of the United States of America and I will support the constitution.

You probably shouldn't admit you're DSA on a public forum.

:pound:
Nah I'm good, I like being on the right side of history. Try to remember as much as you can from this period, one day your grand kids will want to interview you for a school report to find out wtf you were thinking.

Lol, wannabe Che Guevara LARPers practicing for the Second Glorious October Revolution (TM) lecturing me about disarming for the greater good of society and being on the right side of history.

Why would you have a 4Runner? It's a product of capitalism, a Trabant would be more appropriate for a Democratic Socialist.

Democratic socialists don't believe in centrally planned economies or large bureaucracy, in practice it is still capitalism as the means of production with systems to make sure it is fair for everyone and everyone enjoys the benefits.

So yeah, I'm good with my union made 4Runner

(also, socialists aren't the ones carrying tiki torches and shields with their favorite Pepe)

tell me again, which side is playing pretend revolution?:

Edit: i wonder if that ad was made with russian money

Ugh the antifa It's like talking to a headless squirrel on male-to-female hormonal therapies to get back at drumphffff

If you don't think Bloomberg's MDA flunkies and CNN's own activists don't descend upon a mass shooting like vultures, start interviewing people, then hand out scripted anti-gun talking points to the ones who are wanting 15 minutes of fame off of tragedy, then you're the one who is delusional.

You don't even have to pay these people anything.

Scripted talking points? Tell me more.
