Flowmaster or Magnaflow Muffler?

my friend just sold me his flowmaster 44 super off his foxbody mustang and i love it. loud enough to be noticed but not just stupid loud. i freaking love it!!!!!

I have a 14" Magnaflow on mie right now. I love it, but it it's pretty loud. Had both a Magnaflow 18" and a Flowmaster 40 on my Tacoma. Both had their pluses and minuses, but I would say that for what you are looking for, the 18" Magnaflow would be the best fit out of the three.

I agree! I have been using 18" magnaflow exhausts for 3 years and I can't find the better other than the 18" magnaflow..

This is my first post.. I see I put 3111 instead of 311... ugh... hopefully this forum is cool with adjusting my mispelling for my username...

So I was sick of my Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 Liter V8 due to constant breakdowns and picked up this beauty (07 limited v8 4runner). I love her. I love the stock 8" sub in the back and the JBL system is all around dope. I'm putting in an Alpine Type R 10" 4ohm sub this weekend yahoo (finally!)...

I'm adding stuff and one is a Flowmaster. I had a 50 series on my jeep and it was amazing. Anyone have any other recommendations for my 4runner this go round?

Just put a magnaflow on and it is slightly louder than stock...has a nice quiet rumble and I picked up over 1mpg! Lifetime warranty.

So it sounds like everyone is pretty happy with their 18" magnaflow. . Can someone help as far as a part number so I know which one to get. Im trying to find one for the best price possible...

Fyi I own a 99 3.4v6 4x4 4runner..

Thanks guys

The only problem I have with flow master is that they are not what their name suggests. They use baffles to make noise. They are very restrictive because of this. When the baffles rust out they can block the outlet and blow a hole in the case. If a magnaflow fails and rattles it's not useless. It will still muffle the exhaust. Magnaflow all the way!

FWIW, I'm running an 18" case Magnaflow #11255 muffler. It's SS, with a one-piece tube running through it.

That 3 chamber design you linked to, is probably quieter.

My muffler has a deep rumble on acceleration, but it's not obnoxiously loud, IMO.

It's nearly silent at a light-load cruise down the highway.

I usually run magnaflow but my 98 has a flowmaster. It still sounds good and does not drown out the radio.

I have a 12" Dirtydeeds BA muffler, love the tone and gained 1mpg. For a milder option I would have gone with the 16" or 20" can.
