Flowmaster v. Magnaflow

I just had the exhaust on my '94 changed today...i told the guy that i wanted the loudest exhaust he could imagine on the car...he ended up settlin on the loudest muffler Flowmaster makes...and said that the Magnaflow actually quited down the car...has anybody else had this happen?...also...i have heard that over time...the muffler will break in and get a bit louder...is that true?...how long?...how much louder?...

Sometimes it gets louder, sometimes it gets quieter. I've had it do both. The drone point will normally move around some also. Drive it for month or so and you will notice the changes.

flowmaster is known depending on series of muffler to make some of the least restricted and hence loudest setups out there.

I was a mustang guy for a while and the reputation that flowmaster has is: 1.unbeatable sound 2. might decrease power 3. expensive with cheap materials 4. drone

Magnaflow's rep: 1. just a bit louder than stock 2. adds power "straight through" muffler 3. expensive with good materials 4. drone

I just put on a flowmaster 50 Delta flow and the sound is terrific. BUT there is a slight drone at 1800 or so rpm and the interior noise is a little louder than I wanted. In hindsight I should have gone with the 50 series SUV. I didn't know they had one when I ordered the muffler though. If it gets too distracting, I'll either try a resonator or go ahead and change it. I'm going to stick with the flowmaster in any case, makes the v6 sound like a souped up v8.

One other thing. I got the stainless steel 50 Delta and to my knowledge the SUV model is not available in stainless.
