Flush or drain and fill?

I bought a 2007 v6 runner a month ago with 95k miles. My question is, should I get the trans flushed or just do a drain and fill? I was looking through the service records and a flush was never done.

Technically none of the above. Do a full fluid exchange. If your mechanically inclined you and a friend can do it in under an hour. If not take it to the dealer where they know the correct procedure.

I've done both. I would do a drain and fill to see what the fluid looks like. If its pretty clean I'd just leave it at that. If its dirty or burned, I'd do the complete exchange by disconnecting the return line. Look it up on here and you'll find the writeup.

I did it on an 04 with 134k miles and the fluid was pretty dirty and had probably never been serviced.

I did it on an 06 with 159k miles and the fluid was clean and had obviously been serviced.
