FN Countersteer Type X

Toying with the idea of getting new wheels. Looking at the Countersteer Type X wheels, but not wanting to get new tires. I'm currently running the TRD Pro wheels with the NITTO Terra Grapplers in 265\70\17. I was wondering if anyone is currently running the stock tire size on any 17x8 inch wheel? Doesn't have to be the FN wheel, or NITTO tires. I was just wondering if the stock tire size will still look good on the wider wheel. Thanks!

You'll find gobs of photos of 265s on 8" width wheels. Looks great to me!

I'm still on stock size with these exact wheels.

You will likely rub on the bumper and mudflap and need to trim said plastic pieces accordingly.

Is it only because you are on stock height ? I'm currently running 5100s all around with front set at .85. Rear is stock height. Could you share some pictures of your setup ? Thanks

It's all to do with the fact that you're moving the wheel outward. Its not major trimming, in fact most of the TRD Pro's are given the treatment when they're outfitted at the port. If you have a good alignment, you might escape some of it, but I do get rub in reverse at full lock on the passenger side mudflap still while being lifted at 2.5" in the front.

But I do recall hitting the front edge of the bumper cover, and would still if I had not trimmed when I was stock. Lifting doesn't really cure rubbing, contrary to popular belief. Some are blessed with no rubbing, some get a lot of rubbing. It all comes down to factory tolerances and your current alignment. It's all easily curable with an exacto knife, a socket wrench and a little patience.
