I wonder if Future Chrome can apply a black chrome finish to the “4Runner” on my tailgate. Nice looking stuff. And I have always thought about chroming my collection of skulls.

Have always loved the look of black chrome... done right and on the right car/truck, it looks cool as hell.

Packaging was superb, wheels arrived in perfect condition! Rims were totally worth the wait :rockon: , pictures don't do them justice!
Dustin hooked me up with a full set of chrome locking lugs, a couple of extra center caps (in addition to the black ones that are included), and a cool FN T-Shirt with a 4Runner on the back :bigok:






Ok, the moment I've been waiting for for over a month................TA DA!









Sorry pictures weren't better, was running out of light after getting out of work and picking truck up from shop. Plus didn't have time to apply the ever so important TIRE SHINE. Inserted black center caps for now, till the chome ones are done.

Stance is much better and love the look, exactly what I wanted!

Looks REALLY really good. Very clean and this is such a good look that no one really does anymore.

'10-13 runners like yours have s really good old school look to them, with the front end and the chrome trim and everything... I feel like this is exactly what someone would have done in the early 2000 or late 90's if these trucks were out then. Looks dated but in a very very good way. Super clesn

Those turned out really nice. That is a really nice alternative to what we are used to seeing. Great job thinking outside the box and getting what you really wanted instead of settling for what is out there. Keep us informed about the center caps.

Ha-ha-ha, funny my 17 year old son was busting my balls about not getting black rims, chrome was so lame. Now that they're mounted he had to admit them looked really good. Must have killed him to admit it...........lol!

Latest on center caps, shop has been working out some kinks with the system, they've had air filtration and water condition issues which caused a slight yellow tint in the chrome. Working with Futurchrome they have worked out the problems. Yesterday they chromed a drive shaft and it came out great. Hopefully Tuesday they'll start on my stuff.

After talking to Dustin today, he's working on some new gloss black center caps with red or gold "FNW" lettering, he showed me some proto types and they look sweet. Not sure when they'll be available though.

Today got some unfortunate news from the body shop, they can't get the chroming process correct :sobbing:

They applied base coat, then chrome (caps looked really good), but when clear coat was applied there is a slight haze that appears between chrome and clear (upper right corner of second picture)..............bummer.They have been in touch with Futurchrome about what's causing problem, but no answers yet. We agreed that the quality was subpar and they wouldn't proceed further until Futurechrome provided a viable solution that works. They gave me back my caps and didn't charge me a dime.




Too bad they didn't come out better, but the reflective properties are really good................



Hopefully they can resolve whatever the issue is, but I've come this far.......not gonna settle. Search is still on for a company that will do PVD UV coatings in small quantities :shrug:

Almost forgot, caps will have TRD lettering in red no matter what the final process is.

Latest update; chrome coating didn't hold up at all, it actually came off in sheets when I washed wheels last week. Guess water pressure from garden hose was too much.

Black center caps were swapped out with TRD's, doesn't look half bad IMO. Think these will look bad ass with PVD coating and red insert. Search is still on, tho haven't had much time due to work schedule.
