Fog Light Lens for a 1998

Hello,

I just bought my first 4x4, a 98 4Runner, Limited. I still own my 85 Supra though.

The 4Runner had 1 broken fog light lens. This glass piece can be replaced separately and is rectangular in shape. This is a toyota installed item (i think). It plugs into the toyota harness but they had to cut part of the plastic lower bumper to fit it in.

Anyway, the dealer wants like $60-$95 depending on discount for this piece of glass. I've searched high and low and no one makes an aftermarket part. Can't find one used either. Even tried junkyard dog.com.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

These were likely installed after they left the factory... any chance you have a manufacturer for the fog lamps? I think I recall seeing some Hella's in a Performance Products catalog that were sold for this model year as replacements... try http://www.performanceproducts.com or give them a call and speak to someone.

If you're not up for replacing both lamps, then your other option is to check your local junk yards for a wrecked 4runner you can salvage one from...

I did check out that web site but couldn't find anything. There is a toyota part number (00550-35962).

The lens is rectangular and has the below embossing. I went to the Hella site and they have a cross reference for various manufacturers but for some reason there's no toyota section. I sent them an email with the below info.

I paid $60 for a replacemnt, best price was out of Pa. you replace the whole light unit except for the plastic housing. The unit is all in one, you can not just replace the glass ( I know I tried). they came from Susquehanna motorsport in PA (cant remember the web address for them). this was an option installed by the dealer. The part is easy to replace.
 
bryancos has it right. theyre hella fog lights that were a dealer-installed option.

that link is the exact product you will need.

finding one at a junkyard will be tough, because 99% of the time a car is in the junkyard due to front-end collisions.

i agree with the performance products route. however, i am not sure if they sell just lenses, do they? i tried to find just mounting brackets (as i did not feel like fab'ing some up) to mount my hella 550's in the slots. could not find any. so now they are on the top of the bumper. if not, try hella direct.
 
Per the product description in the URL posted above:

Looks like they'll replace the whole light, but not just the lens. Best bet is to call them to see what your options are.
 
Here is a clarification of several previous posts. I just purchased the lens and reflector from Susquehanna Motorsport (the PA company). Their web site is www.rallylights.com. The lens and reflector ( part number is HL65061)are $56 plus $8 shipping or you can buy the entire light (HL65060) for $59.
They were helpful over the phone and ordering on their site we quick and easy.
 
Hey, if you want I have an extra. After my last accident, in which one of them broke, the toyota repair shop said i would have to find them on my own so i said f*ck it and now i just dont have fog lights (i'm thinking of putting different models in tho). As a result, I believe I have a spare light that you can have for like 10 bucks if you come pick it up (I live in dc). Let me know.

HI I have one only and it is rectangular with the brand name Hella, My 4runner is a 98 limited so Im sure its the same as yours. I need 35 for it paypal account under [email protected]. Thanks ~Ben
 
Discontinued fog lamp?

I have a 97 4runner limited with the same aftermarket hella fog lamps that no longer work. Hella has discontinued the 300 series. Does anyone have a pair of these for sale or have a suggestion for an alternative that will fit the same mounting bracket???
