hi guys.. im fairly new here. ive got a '97 runner and was wondering if there was a way to add fog lights to my 4runner and how would i go about doing this. if someone could point me in the right direction and what i need to do to find out on how to do this that would be great. thanks.

you've got some options.
1) You can cut the slats on either side of the license plate and mount some fog lights. The only problem with that is that you will not have much room unless you are willing to mount the license plate somewhere else. After you cut the slats, you will have about 6" W to work with on either sides.
2) You can check if your rig already came with the wiring you need to add fog lights in the bumper next to your turning signals. If your runner alredy came with the wiring, all you need to do is look on this website:

The part number that you need it HL74560
3) You can purchase a simple bull bar from ebay and then mount a pair of decent fog/driving lights there.

Burtman Industries offers a front lip spoiler w/ fog lights, I'll admit it is a bit pricy but if I had a 97, I'd definitely get it.

Many years ago i got a valance from Performance Products in Cal. Looks VERY similar to the one from Burtman. To this day I still love it but cant recall the price now (or even if they still sell it).
One down side is the fog lights. when they get broken from rocks the only place I can find them are Performance Products. They are round Hellas from EU Passats.
