fog light upgrade, what bulbs to go with?

so tonight i was driving home in some of the worse fog i've ever seen so i figured it was time to upgrade my fogs. i believe the factory bulb is a H3 so i was wondering if these bulbs would probably be a good solution

out of curiosity i've noticed on infinity's QX4's they have a very yellow looking factory fog light, is yellow better light for fog or is it just the way they came factory.

Yellow lights have better visibility qualities in all wet conditions, like fog and rain.

I just ordered some of these as a driving light replacement, they are projector's for only $33.. not bad.

Once I get them I'll order me some 8k HID's

how does luminics do in fog brian? i think if i get those i'm gonna have to do the fogs then to if they don't perform to good

I like them, I just went with those to match my headlights.

If you are acutally planning to use them for inclement weather than give the Hella Yellowstar H3s a try. I got a pair for under $30 shipped and they work quite well in the wet and snow.

I had Silverstar H3s and they were a solid improvement over stock but didn't really work that great in the rain and they cost me $36/pair.

I actually can't remember the place but it was on-line and just sold bulbs. I'll search a little later for ya'.

Now you have to remember that the Luminics Pure Blue are not the brightest bulbs, If you want something bright w/ an HID look go with the Luminics Titanium White.

I actually have the Optilux Extreme yellow bulbs which I see dropped $8 in price per pair. The Hellas are even cheaper.

Which one is the correct one to use the 55, 85, or 100 Watt Bulb.

Unless you upgrade the stock wiring harness you don't want to go over 55w. 100w will melt things real quick.

Ron... I've got the hella 500 driving lights(55w). I installed them using wires that came in the box. So does that mean if I upgrade the bulb to a 100w it would melt the wires?

ive gotta 00 base model that doesnt have fog lights at all. im not sure if there is wiring installed for it and they're just not installed or what. i often drive to the mountain in inclement snowy weather, so i definitely wanted to get some sort of fog lights. i was originally leaning toward a factory fitting but if its cheap enough/worth it i would consider some self install lights.

any thoughts??

I would guess that good/decent fogs piaa, hella, kc...etc would be better then factory (but can't attest to it). Also, look under there, could be prewired if i'm not mistaken.

I bought a OEM fog light kit on eBay and it hooked right up to those plugs.
