For all you Monday late nighters

Alright so for those of you who know I'm trying to get into a road worthy all terrain, and aside from all opinions I wanted to try the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S to fulfill my present street queen needs. Anyways, they were out of stock and was pursuing alternatives then I finally got them to order a set so I'm set to get them on Saturday. But looking at the sizing charts I'm seeing this

BFG KM2: 34.8 x 12.3
YOKO : 34.5 x 9.8

Obviously a lot of change coming with this and I'm looking at this from all angles..looks, gas mileage, handling, etc. So you clicked here, read this far, what do you think?

What do we think of what?

I don't think they are going to look good. They will be smoother. Braking and accelerating might improve a little, but they are still a lot heavier than stock.

What kind of MPG were you getting?
 
well sounds like u got the tires u wanted and well i hope u like them. Im not to keen on the brand but thats just me... thats crazy how different the thickness of the tire is but i think itll still look great on ur runner and ull be getting better gas mileage since it weighs less.

Just think of the dramatic change, not only m/t to modest a/t but 3" skinner width, I just like all opinions...after all I'll be living with this decision for a year or so.

Replacing maf and o2 sensor soon enough I'm expecting a 1-2mpg with that, but currently 10-12 city 12-14 highway
 
Ouch. That's why I just can't see going with all the heavy off-road mods for my daily driver. I'm averaging 18-19 consistently.
 
I picked up a set of the same Yokohama's in December-definitely enjoying the smoother ride and better mpg's, but missing the versatility of the Michelin LTX M/S I had before. I used to do daily, light off-road driving, but now I am a 99% street queen and like what the Yoko's give me. The kid in me wishes I would have picked up some "meaner" tires for the asthetics and beach driving trips.........

Oh without a doubt. It's gonna be a really big change.

Your gonna run the 315's now? That tire still weights 61 pounds.

Are you going to offroad at all or just stop for a year?

true, just heard too many good things, but its coming from road oriented people so its different. i've never seen any evidence of a 315/75 of this tire on any rig so it will be interesting for sure

haha trust me after my 3 year stint of the rocky path i'm trying to correct my ways in some respects and get some luxury inside the interior and regain some stock-like economy :) better late than never I guess

The Yokohamas are in 315s yeah.

After $2,600 in redoing the front suspension and multiple fixes under the hood I'd like that to last for a little before I go beating it up again. When I got in the last mess I just sort of thought about it logically and realized I just need to break for a year while I start my career....of course when its time to get back in its going to be diving in head first.

Damn $2600 on the front suspension? What did you do? As for the tires i'm a m/t lover but if those are what you were after i'm sure you will be satisfied with them. I think I would have atleast went with nitto grapplers though. 2 cents.

$1300 on front suspension including everything you can think of, all bushings tie rods new cv's etc. Other $1300 was multiple engine related fixes, new power steering pump, custom p/s reservoir, fan clutch valve covers and some more things i can't remember now. I don't know why I never liked the TerraGraplers though, the Toyos have similar tread pattern I'd much rather fork over the more dough and get those if I had to choose
 
I got the cheapest ATs they had on Tire Rack, the Kumho AT KL 78's. I don't have too many complaints. They handle mud, sand, and water well and they're quiet. A lot of people claim to have balance issues but I haven't had any. I'd have preferred a BFG or Goodyear, but I'm poor. Married AND college student = no mods.
 
haha yeah he's sort of on topic tonight it's not much but its progress

and brian do you have the 3.0? someone mentioned that the 4cyls all come with the grey bumpers...
