great looking vehicle!

Only thing i want to say about this is i think your price is a bit too high. My runner i recently bought is all leather, limited, trd package, 1998 229,000 miles and in excellent body condition inside and out. i purchased it for 4,150 dollars. i think youll get a lot more bites if you lower at least to about 5500. and that in my opinion is still a alittle high. just trying to help!

Yes, there is a difference in the craigslist price and the 4Runner Forum price.

What you neglected to mention is that the Craigslist is a re-post and it was listed all through January & February for $7,500.00

Rationale: This is not a "feeler" thread. I love the truck and am not very motivated to sell. $7,500 would take it. Less than that, I would have difficulty parting with it.

Tom - I only saw the current ad on Craigslist, so I had no idea you reposted the truck at a lower price? And if your reception was poorly received by the Craigslist community at $7500 - causing you to drop the price to $6000 - why on earth would you chose the T4R forum to test the waters with the previously higher price?

Im not trying to be a d!ck, but that's not a very logical rationale in my book.

Logic? This forum has a much larger reach than Phila Craigslist. There may be someone out there looking for a very well-maintained 3rd gen T4R. Look at other 3rd gen prices on here, I don't view mine as outlandish...

What's more, this is not a "feeler" thread & I am not looking to quickly part with the truck. Thus any "water-testing" as you've put it, is not being done here, it is being done with the local ad on Craigslist...

That's the logic - take it or leave it!

With a 6 post contributions to this forum and a take it or leave it logic. What you can be assured this posting for sale is as good as dead on this forum. How's that logic for ya. Lol

Rest assured; you won't have to worry about a " quickly parting with the truck" your attitude towards constructive critisum will keep it real close in your driveway.

Most here searched for months to years, the information offered is based on their experience regionally or throughout the country. Take it or Leave it to follow your logic.

The truck looks clean and he was clear about the price. Is it the highest or lowest priced 3rd Gen around? Nope. And in an effort to look out for potentially interested buyers from this forum, I'm going to point it out and inquire about it. So yes, his/her post count and the CL ad are relevant.

We should help make sure no one gets screwed over by educating people on maintenance items, condition, appearance, potential pitfalls of certain model years/gens, etc. On the other side, a member has a right to ask whatever he/she wants for their vehicle. If this was a tech forum post about what's this vehicle worth, then it's up for discussion and members are free to read it and learn from it. In the for sale section, it is respectful to not comment on price because you can directly have an effect on the final sale price. And frankly, that is a transaction between one buyer and one seller. All I said was that if you thought the price was high, make a private offer. No one person here is such an expert on vehicle pricing in every market in this country that they can predict the actual value of a truck.

If you posted your truck(s) for sale based upon what you think they are worth in your part of the country, and I (not even a potential purchaser) posts up that I think it's overpriced because I can get the same truck $1500 cheaper in a different area, doesn't help you get your price that you want. I do see what you mean. But you're not comparing apples to apples here. First, I am in the seller's market. I've probably bought and sold more of these 3rd gens than any other forum member. 2nd, not saying I could get his truck $1,500 cheaper elsewhere. I'm saying he posted it $1,500 cheaper elsewhere. (Same truck, same market) I agree he can ask whatever he wants for it. Ultimately the buyer will dictate the price and he can then decide to sell it for that amount or not. But to post it on CL a day prior for $1,500 less than he posted it here, come on? Even worse was his reasoning, "he won't take $6,000 for it." Why the hell bother to post it for that than? Low post count, different prices on different sites, doesn't make for a lot of confidence in the seller.
