For Sale: 1997 4Runner, Base model, 4cyl, 5sp manual, 4X4, 174,900 miles. Excellent Condition. Original owner. Purchased new by the owner at Folsom Toyota in California on September 18, 1997. Desert Dune Metallic. Oak interior. AC, Rear seat heater. Convenience package-CQ: Variable wipers, rear wiper, digital clock, rear window defogger. Upgrade package: Power windows, power locks, power antenna, power outside mirrors, lighting package, radio / cassette with 4 speakers, cruise control, carpeted floor mats. Privacy glass. Convenience package-C7: Roof rack, receiver hitch, rear wind deflector and carpeted cargo mat. Factory alloy wheels, Front seat covers, three keys, original window sticker, sales contract, owners’ manual, and factory repair manual. The factory manual documents every maintenance / repair by mileage and date since new. Other than typical maintenance items, the vehicle is all original except for: K&N air filter, CARB legal header and Borla stainless steel exhaust, sideview mirrors. No major collisions. The 4Runner has been garaged or covered in San Diego for 28 years. It was my driver from new until 2010. I now drive it once a month. I personally did 99% of the maintenance on it. The oil was changed every 3.5k miles. Cosmetics: The front bumper shows pitting, the wheel centers are faded, the badges show some oxidation, driver’s arm rest shows wear, the cargo area has scratches and the glass in the aftermarket side mirrors vibrate while driving. Minor dents on front and rear bumpers and in driver’s side door. Right rear tail light and lower panel replaced due to minor collision with a lamp pole. Smogged July 2025.

Thanks. I submitted it to BaT. They said they would run it, but only WITHOUT a reserve. I just got an offer for $10k, I'm going to keep advertising it for a while. We 'car people' that spent 1/4 of our lives taking care of our 'babies' always think it's worth more than it actually is. :lmao: My son learned to drive in this rig. He was 7-8 when he'd sit in my lap and steer when out in Anza Borrego State Desert Park.

Frank, I'm down to $12.5. I had advertised on CL and Autotrader, with little luck. I've had 20+ inquiries since I put it on FB market place, so ad channel is key. Avg. sale price nation wide is $4,500. My rig is a unicorn, rare, and in very good condition for its age, but with typical mileage. I think it is worth more, so I'm rejecting low offers. I've had 3 offers of $10k, but of course an offer means nothing until the cash is in the bank. I have 6 vehicles and have owned it for 28 years, so I'm in no hurry. Anyone with sales channel ideas, please post.
