Yeah I can't imagine the circumstances but I have to assume they are doing some kind of post-mortem on the engine. That or it's really really really cold there. Crazy whatever it was...

I don't doubt that you have — but how much worse can you get than what looks like rubber cement for oil? Sand and gravel perhaps?

I sure haven't. But I only work on cars I maintain, thank goodness.
Can an engine be saved that has gone through that? How do you clean out the engine? Farmer trick for tractors is fill it with 50% diesel/50% ATF and run it with that for a while, but I don't know if that is smart for a car.

The worst of being around autos in a quarter century was on a 93 Accord where the lady had not changed the oil since she rolled off the lot, this with close to 65,000 miles on it. She was from Vermont and had $$$, she gave it to my friend's neighbor, her nephew, who was going off to college. Couldn't even get anything to come out the drain plug initially. Had to heat up the pan with mapp gas, then a little roll came out. Ultimately had to drop the pan and the sludge was caked on to the bottom of the pan, think roofing caulk. The oil pickup was amazingly not blocked up fully. The guy cleaned out the bottom of the pan, took off the valve covers, cleaned out the top end, mixed Havoline oil and a quart of ATF for every 1000 miles for five or six times. It got him through four years of college. The Japanese don't build them like that anymore.
Dated a girl who in 40,000 miles never changed her oil once in her 99 Civic. When I changed it the oil was thick as molasses and the amount that drained could only fill half of a Solo red cup. Not a keeper in my books.

I think that video is fake. I do not believe a car could run with this kind of oil, as it would cause starvation all around the engine, and a subsequent overheat.
I also find it weird that the oil pan is not rusty at all, while the rest of the underneath is rusty. Kind of like if they took away the oil pan and put it back, and hid the removal traces. There is some kind of grease on the oil pan that does not belong there, as this guy is obviously not rustproofing his car.
I've learnt that most viral video we see on the web are fake/staged.

my old boss did the same with his truck. oddly enough a truck that he bought new. it went like 40k on the first, or maybe 2nd oil change. it came out like licorice rope.
he eventually sold the truck with just a shade over 200k on it, still running strong.

Lexus came in, knocking noise, oil light on. Dropped pan to inspect and here's what goodies I could collect
