Hello. I know im not the only one with children here, so I have a question. What booster seat are you using for your 3+ year old? I have done some research, and most of the reviews seem bias. And which ones fit well in our runners. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

From my understanding booster seats are used for kids that are at least 40+ lbs., so most kids don't need them until they're at least 4 or 5 (may daughter just started using one and she's 6). This is purely biased based on my opinion, but a imo booster seat is nothing more than a glorified phonebook in that it just lifts them up so the seatbelt is held at a safe placement on their body. I bought one that was on sale for $25. Make/model/reviews really meant nothing to me.

For both my kids seats I used sections of old thick vinyl flooring cut to fit underneath so the seats don't pinch and crease the leather.

I'm curious too, my oldest is getting close to getting in a booster soon. If there was a style that worked better than others for the Runner I'd be all over it too. But Axis is probably right, unlike car seats there probably isn't much science to seperate the different makes when it comes to boosters, it might come down to which color matches the interior best to make up my mind.

From experience of the car seat I know I have to put something under the seats, not just from the pressure points of the seats leaving indents in the Runner's seats, but also the crumbs, crayons etc. always manage to get trapped down there. I might get a chunk of black fabric and wrap the seat bottoms first.

Got mine from Wally World for about $15 each. Cheap and effective. especially when you have twins and need them for 2 vehicles. As mentioned, there's nothing scientific about them all they do is lift the kid. Everything is just a novelty.

I have I believe a Graco. The cool thing about it is that it has a back that eventually removes. It can be used in each stage of booster seat needs as your child grows. My son is now six and he just sits on the bottom portion. We removed the back.

I can find out the model number. It was fairly cheap, but he has used it for 3 years with NO hassles. It is great. We can move it easily when Grandma takes him for a ride and such as well.

The important features are that when it has the back on it lowers the top point of the seat belt so it goes across him correctly. Plus it has built in arm rests for comfort. The arm rests also flip up.

I believe I paid around $29-35 at Target. So many of my friends who spent quite a bit more on boosters asked me where I got it because they like it. We actually bought 2 and keep one in each car.

I think I have the same booster seat as you BamBam. I bought mine from Walmart for about $29, about a month ago. It has brown trim, an adjustable back height, folding armests and converts as the child grows. Wow, what a breeze it is using the booster seat compared to a baby seat with the latch system..

I agree with Axis, the booster seat is pretty basic compared to an infant/toddler car seat. I would go to Walmart or Target and get one that is on sale for around $30. One thing to note, I would buy a neutral colored one just in case you need it again one day for another kid, plus it would be easier to sell on craigslist once you are done with it.

I checked on Target's and Walmart's websites and they don't have the cheaper ones listed. Turns out mine is an Evenflo, not a Graco. Here's a link to the "deluxe" model. $30 more for "activity lights" LOL.

Walmart.com: Evenflo - Big Kid DLX High Back Booster Car Seat, Eclipse: Car Seats

Here's some pics of mine in the T4R, as well as the box it came in:

You're right. It is an Evenflo. Mine has the cheaper fabric on top. Not that suede stuff. It is black and gray. The cool thing about it is that it comes off easily and you can throw it in the wash. It has the little popout drink holders too, which have come in handy lots of times.

Graco was what brand our stroller was and I got confused. We have the "cheap" model of the one pictured above, and the back is removable. It works great.
