Happy Thursday!
Just wanted to share my build video of the Coastal Offroad High Clearance Front Bumper. I have had it for a few months and I am very happy with it!
For those with little to no welding experience. Don't be scared of taking this on yourself. The kit is put together very, very good and the process is pretty easy. On a difficulty scale of 1-10, I would give it a 2. Just takes a little time.

do you know if coastal offers a pre welded one? i have a welder and everything, id just prefer someone who knows what they are doing weld it.

They do not. They are sold as a kit. That being said. Really, this isn't hard. Take your time, make sure you are getting good penetration and you will end up with a great finished project. One that you can take serious pride in knowing that you personally put it together.

thank you. the video helped. i see that its not hard, but right now its mostly a time constraint and scheduling issue for me. id have to take a day off work and see when my roommate is available to help me (he works a different shift than i do). i figure once i call around locally, i wont want to pay a welder either.

Man excellent video! I've been on the fence about whether or not I can weld this up myself but after seeing this I'm gonna give it a go. Especially hearing that you were just using flux core as well as that's all I've got.

Your video was very well done to.. your speaking and camera angles were all on point, again, good job!

Now I just need to get with Coastal and see if they can make a lower hoop for me. I want one that only goes half the height, crossing right in front of the Toyota logo on the grille...

**maybe I can just cut the tall hoop down?

Buy a gas bottle if your welder can run gas. I did mine with flux core and spent WAY more time grinding slag off of things than I needed to. It took me two solid 10 hours days to get mine done. Fitting the tubes up takes a long time, especially if you haven't done it before. That said, the plate parts fit together like a Lego kit.

Oh, and if you haven't welded those nuts to the middle plate on top of the frame rails, make sure you take the bolts out before you weld the winch plate on.

Totally true. But flux core hits like a hammer, which is nice if you can only afford a 110v machine like me back in college

Thank you for the kind words!!! I really appreciate it! Yes using gas would be cleaner. I didn't have much problem though. Honestly, had I not been making a video, I could have had it done in under 5 hours start to finish.

What welder were you using?

I was using a buddies Hobart. I did just order a Titanium 140 from Harbor Freight. That is what I will be using for the rear bumper, slider and skids.

This was a really well done video. I already have a hybrid plate/tube bumper, but just watched it cause I love to weld and you did fantastic, took your time and didn't rush anything. The guys at Coastal Offroad aka [MENTION=77310]BrandonF[/MENTION] did a fantastic job with this kit.

i recommend a welder that uses gas. flux core sucks. if you use flux core, make sure you are comfortable using a grinder for extended periods of time.

Thank you for your awesome youtube video! I watched it bout 5 times in the past month and it inspired me so much that i went ahead and ordered the Coastal Offroad rear bumper with dual swing outs for my 5th Gen. Never touched a welder in my life except the ones on display at Harbor Freight lol

You mentioned you used a Hobart 140 Flux core, how many times did u go past the duty cycle of that welder?
