yes, you can use PS fluid as well. there are quite a few people on here that say "NO ONLY ATF" but for the steering system, pretty much either can be used, mixed even with no issues.

Perhaps on the pwr steering fluid, but it does state specifically on the cap Dextron III. The beloved manual says:
Power steering fluid type: Automatic transmission fluid DEXRON II or III

On the coolant I'm kinda with you. This is all our beloved manuals say about coolant:
Coolant type: “TOYOTA Long Life Coolant” or equivalent With ethylene−glycol type coolant for a proper corrosion protection of aluminum components Do not use alcohol type antifreeze or plain water alone.

Since it says "or equivalent" then Toyo knows there are equivalents out there.

When engine blocks were cast iron, and heavier, the green Prestone antifreeze was good enough for me. In fact I still use it in my Ford Bronco and F150, that both have the 302 under the bonnet. No problems.

With car companies today using thinner and lighter metals for engine building to save $$$ for themselves as well as attempting to get closer to meeting CAFE and other govt mandates, I would think using proprietary glycol per auto manufacturer is necessary to be used in order to keep the cooling system in top tier condition. Too many chemical variables at work for me not to.
