Hey guys - happy to join up!

I've owned a few Tacomas and most recently sold my 100 series LC to get into this sweet black beauty you see below.

She's a 2006 v8 Limited with ~140 on the clock. The PO did a good bit of the things I was looking to do when I eventually found a runner in this trim - 3" lift, 33" Duratracs, VSC mod, stereo upgrades, good tints, new SPC LCAs, all of the big maintenance items done. I'm ready to get rowdy on the trails! Happy to be here - I've always been a Toyota enthusiast and this seems like a great community to learn from!

2007 4Runner Head Gasket issues

So my gf took my car to the mechanics today while I was at work for an oil change. She reports back after it’s over and tells me that the mechanic said that it’s leaking coolant from the head gasket. It’s a 2007 with only 130k. I’m wondering what are the chances that it actually is? I thought the head gasket problem was fixed in 06. Or is there a chance the mechanic is just trying to take advantage of us? I’m also wondering what I should be looking for?
