The heavily modded Runners are nice, but I find this one just downright sexy and so original looking.

I always liked the simple clean ones, like RonMaiden and SIKHILUXSURF

but my main favorites are between driffter33, a random photo I found on Yotatech (Castaic4Runner), and Steve Chaplain's 4Runner.

driffter33's is a beast, hands down. I love tons of 4Runners, brian2suns, pure98s, proudrunners, LINY's, etc, etc, but I just especially love the level of custom work on driffter33's. From custom bumpers made at home, to a whole rear disc brake conversion with new master cylinder and all sorts of fancy stuff, this thing is a serious piece of work. Custom rear diff retrofit is insane, and it's lovely imperial jade mica (big plus). All of that, and it's a DD. May be a little rough around the edges plus some minor body damage, but damn, it's put to use way more than anyone elses DD I've ever seen.

Steve Chaplain lives in Mission Viejo too, so I see him all the time and I really loved the way his truck looked. His 4Runner helped persuade me to buy one. It's a full on baja racing beast. I loved the wheels, and that's why I got the ones I have today.

And this is the Yotatech photo. Clean, not over the top in any way, and best of all, original. This 4Runner, while this is an old photo, showed me how good a 4Runner could look. I am glad that I saw this, because I saw it when my 4Runner was a useless pile.

I love these trucks mainly because they're not just bolt on parts that anyone without a mind can buy. They were all done custom and well, don't look tacky and flashy. They get the job done and they're good representations of the owners behind the wheel. I can't stand it when someone gets all of their stuff for free and they don't even work on their truck. I know quite a few names, but I will not drop any.

I am unsure how other people think about my car since it is a 2WD, most don't give a damn once they hear that, but I like to think I've made it look good. I love the thing. It's my Cinderella story.

WOW I'm shocked. I was just going through checking out all these bad-ass runners and to see mine posted up with them, I'm honored.
There are a lot of great runners out there both 2wd and 4x4. James you are right that often the 2wd's are over looked. Your 2wd is sweet I wish mine was half as clean as yours is. You have given extreme attention to detail and your runner definitely deserves to be on this thread. Thanks for the kind words.
