Funny story, my friend has a Fisker Karma, which has fully electric everything including doors, there is no handle to pull. He was driving around with a dead electric battery I think, can't remember the exact story, so his electrics didn't work. He couldn't unlock the doors from the inside and the only way to unlock them was from the outside with the key but he had the key inside. So he had to call his wife on the cell phone which didn't work in his garage, and get her to bring the other set of keys, so he just cranked the stereo to full blast to get her attention. She opened the door and threw the keys in and shut the door afterwards so he still couldn't get out and all the keys were inside!!! He was yelling but she didn't get it. So he had to go drive around for 10 km in gas mode to recharge the battery in order to get out. That thing is a death trap.

Electric but I did see a manual one for sale here for $6000 a month or two ago with manual transmission and 4 cylinder. Looked interesting but a bit beat up.

Yes it's a long shot but we have lots of windy roads here with rivers, lakes and ocean just over the barrier.

So the point is simply this: rather than worry about the possibility....make a plan of action. Either swap parts to get crank windows....or, carry a carbide tipped implement (my EDC pocket knife has one) to break your glass....or wait for the car to fill up. In short: have a plan is all I'm saying.

LOL, Anything can happen. Have a plan & be ready. I think I'll hit a deer before I drive into a lake. I plan on hitting the deer & not trying to avoid it, flipping over or crashing into a tree or both! The Shrockworks FB will save my 4R!

But yea, after you drive into the Raritan River, roll down your windows before the electric goes out, let it fill up & then open the door or just swim out the open window. :lever:

The weather has been half decent lately so I've been cracking the rear window open.. I should be fine. I'm more worried about driving into to Hudson river, or possibly sinking the 4Runner in the meadowlands.

I work off Rt120 by Gotham Pkwy across from Met Life Stadium. It always floods here when it rains hard & I always take the truck to work on rainy days.

Is the point that vehicles crash into water? I think we all get that....but none of the instances (in the links that worked) said anything about the electrics failing.

So manual windows, but electrical door locks? Or what is the switch directly in front of the arm rest?
