GOT'M!
So I ended up putting traps inside my engine compartment a few nights ago. Checking every day, he seemed to have decided to stay away from the newly designed interior. However, I checked my wifes car and sure enough, he has decided that looked like a safer place to chill.
So, I decided to put out some pellets for him in both cars. Strategically placing the food right where I noticed he was hanging out. Day before yesterday, nothing. Almost like he knew when it wasn't safe. During the day, I remove the traps and food so that we can drive the cars.
Last night placing all the traps and food back in place and giving the little fella a little prayer. This morning as usual, I go outside and start looking for evidence of his presence and removing all the food and traps. Start off with my 4runner....nothing. Thinking to myself what kind of rat doesn't like rat food? So I head over to my wifes car and open the hood.... BAM! He took the bait! The one block of food that was exactly in in the center of the engine has been moved over to the battery where he ate about half of it, pooped, and left the scene.
So now the question is this, I know he will died, somewhere....But what are the chances there was more than one? I'm going to clean off the engines again today, and keep a close eye every morning on any kind of sign. I also have to try finding where he crawled away to die. I have 2 dogs and hope it's not anywhere they can get to.
