Four 265/70/16 Michelins - How much should I ask

I'll be taking these 265/70/16 Xradial LT2s off and replacing with 265/75/16 Cooper ATPs later this week. What is a fair price to ask on craigslist and these forums? No clue on miles, none have plugs as far as I know.

I want to make someone a good deal but not leave money on the table.

how many miles do you have on them, how much tread is left etc. I used to have these tires, and they are a good street tire for our trucks, I used them offroad even aired down.

Tread depth aside, date code on the tire(4609) means 46th week of 2009.
Pretty old tire and the cracks in the rubber will affect your asking price.
Maybe $200-225?

Well, it looks like they were made in the 46th week of 2009, and they have some cracking too. Michelin says a tire can last up to 10 years. BUT, it should be inspected frequently for signs of deterioration after 5 years, and replaced as needed.

Since they are coming up on 6 years of age, and they have signs of deterioration, if they were mine, I personally couldn't sell them in good conscience.

They are worth nothing and Im pretty sure they are scrap yards with tires in the back that have more tread on them.

As he mentioned it wouldn't be an honest move to sell them and say they have a lot of life left.

I'd say $200 on CL. A used tire shop would ask $250 -$300 in my area.

A good deal for someone, $15 per tire. Not leaving money on the table, $18 per tire. 6 years old, weather checked, probably hard as stone if they are like most Michelin tires.

If I were you I'd stay away from the ATP's. Got nothing but problems with mine. So loud I thought I had a bad bearing.

Yeah probably not worth much, but you might be able to get a little something for them or give them to someone who needs better tires and can't afford them at the moment. I'm sure there's a few people out there who would take those over the bald tires they currently have...

Thanks to those with useful replies. Can't say I've dealt much with used tires. I actually didn't know the manufacture date was on the tires so that's a TIL today :thumb:

I'll probably just throw them up on CL for a few bucks and then recycle them if no one bites.
