I'm really excited for this one. My 1st 4Runner was a crusty 99 with 341k on the clock. I learned a lot, and waited for this one for 11 years! It belonged to my wife's best friends mom since new. She parked it in the Garage, her dad is a very talented software engineer who just took it to Toyota for all the service up until the last 3 years when it has barely been driven. I kept bugging him for the past 10 years that I would buy it no questions asked when he was ready to sell.

The day finally came. I was weeks away from pulling the trigger on a GX470 for way more than I really wanted or needed to spend. My wife got the text from her friend, and it was mine in less than a week! I was actually really anxious because he wouldn't let me take it until they delivered his new car. Understandable. But now it's mine.

Got some "new" wheels. SR5 Sport Wheels painted Charcoal Grey with some TRD Caps glued on. I'm going for a "TRD Clone" trying to mimic what would have been on a TRD Package in 2001.

I think it looks pretty good with the dark grey lower trim.

I also fabbed up a wireless charging mount for my phone.

Sliders! And Wheels!

4XInnovations Sliders went on yesterday. Finished up after dark, so got some pics this morning. I needed a step after removing the running boards, but didnt want to blow 800 to 1000 bucks for a full retail set at a shop.

Enter Facebook Marketplace. Found a professional pipefitter on Facebook Marketplace to weld up the Sliders that I also scored on Facebook for 150 bucks. Sure I had to put in some work, but Ive got loads of free time on the weekends, and I was able to inspect each step and make sure it was done properly. I dont weld, but I inspected welds for 10 years.

Including paint, so far I am still under 500 bucks for Sliders! Not bad! I still need to grab some cavity wax or fluid film for the inside of the frame, so that will put me just over 500 bucks all in!

5th Gen TRD Pro Rear Springs and KYB Monomax installed today. Still working on the front bumper so haven't been able to go for a test drive. The stance is perfect. I will be putting KYB Monomax on the front along with new LBJs tomorrow!
