Fox 2.0 Performance Series opinions

So I just got my 98 and it needs shocks and springs. Was originally going to be cheap and just get KYB's and 99 coils but I stumbled on the Fox 2.0 set up. Anyone run them? I figured for a few bucks more for the front I'd get the whole set up- shocks, springs and top mounts ready to go from a reliable well known company. Looking for feedback on these, other cheap shocks/springs and whatnot. I don't need/want 2-3" of lift, just looking for a lilt bit more than stock. It's a DD and don't want the hassles of extended brake lines and alignment issues hence why I originally wanted 99 talls and cheap shocks. Sorry for the ramble it's early and I need coffee.

Called Fox, they said the 2.0 were definitely recommended for street/light off road use. Fully rebuildable and blah blah blah.

It looks like no one has used them I'll so I'll chuck them on and report back.

When I saw "a few bucks more" than KYB I thought I had missed something since I have no-name coils and KYB shocks. But... that's a lot more! My ride isn't a luxury ride by any means, but they do great off-road for what I do and are much better around town than my tipsy blown shocks and struts I bought it with.

I think no one has done those yet because they are well beyond what most of us pay for suspension. I've heard a lot of good things about Fox though so you won't be disappointed.

I ran those for 10 years on my '02 Tacoma and put them through their paces. I had them rebuilt once during that time, and when I sold my truck they were still working fine but could have benefitted from another rebuild. If you're only going to do mild wheeling then they would be a good choice. If you're going to be doing fast paced wheeling with a heavy amount of camping gear, then I would look at a 2.5" body shock as the 2" will start to fade.

Your 5100s can't touch some Fox 2.0s, these shocks have 70% more damping ability, are rebuildable so essentially infinite life as well as can be tuned to your suspension perfectly, and are by a well known brand with good customer support.

The rebuildable part is huge plus. 99 talls are $120 each new so $390 for a set of springs shocks and upper mounts is only $70 bucks more than KYB's springs and KYB upper mounts just for the front.

I don't mind shelling out the cash for something good, I can buy a full ICON setup and write off the $2000+ dollars for it but I'd rather buy a 4wheeler with the extra money.

So true. Can't stress this enough. Going from a bilstein to a high performance coilover (King in my case) was night and day
