Fox Coil-Overs & 600# Springs Questions

I have fox 2.5 with RR. Personally - I'd probably skip the RR unless there's a good reason you think you want it. If I were buying new today - I'd probably order them from Accutune and have them re-valved with a flutter stack. At some point I will send mine to them to re-valve, but its low on my priority list.

Man thanks so much for this recommendation. After speaking with Andrew from Accutune at great length today I think we have a solid plan. I'm doing the Fox 2.5" coilovers with RRs and with upgrade to the 650# 14" springs and they will custom tune the valving to give me the ride and performance I'm looking for. Those guys are the bomb!! I've gotten out a few times AND I installed my rear lift! I used OME/ARB 2895 springs and a set of fox remote reservoir 2.0 shocks. With KDSS the install was... annoying at least on the passenger side. I managed it but I've got a panhard bar bracket on the way.

I've gotten out a few times (and now there's a bunch of snow) and hit a few bumps - I'm pretty happy. The handling on mountain roads is very confident. That said, I need to see about articulation. I suspect all that preload up front is having quite the impact on what happens when the ground gets a bit sideways.

I'm thinking that a set of taller springs could easily be in my future, but it's not on my rush to do list for now. When spring rolls around and I toss in some 285s.... We'll see.

The Foxes already use a 14" spring so probably some 650# or 700# would be fine for you. I'm going to go ahead and set mind up with some 650#s to start with and just run a little less preload before the bumper. Decided I'm going to go ahead and get the dual adjustable RRs too. [emoji16]

With the added weight you will definitely want the 650lb spring.

Options:

1. Get the Fox and maybe find a used pair of 650's to save a couple bucks. Eibach springs don't really wear.

2. Go with a shock company that will allow you to choose a 650.

Thanks. I'm having second thoughts on when I'll do the bumper and winch at this point. I'm getting the kit from Accutune Off Road so they will upgrade me to the 650# springs if I want them. Thinking now I may just go with the 600# for now and keep my eyes open for set of used Eibach 650s. Pretty sure I need 14" free length correct? Thanks again.

Yes, I believe they are 14" long and 3" ID.

UPDATE:

After much more research, talking to members with Fox shocks, 3 phone calls to Fox and only one call to King I have changed my mind. I will be doing a full King set-up with their compression adjustors along with a 1.25" rear springs. For me customer service and product knowledge is just as important to performance and price. Fox severely lacks in this department and King freaking Rocks it!!

Kings come standard with 550# springs but unlike Fox they will upgrade you to any spring rate that you want and no charge. Still figuring it out but will probably just upgrade to the 600# springs and change them out if needed if and when I do the bumper and winch. Thanks to all that helped me out.
