I can appreciate that Shonus, but with not everybody sharing the sentiment it wouldn't be able to be pulled off without getting in an endless cycle of updating estimates. We'll have a clearer picture Monday.

For the price, even going up to $300, worth the risk.
Let's see, I can buy just the Fox awning from a dealer only 15 minutes away from my house for $6XX.xx and sales tax. It comes with a 1 year limited warranty. 1 year limited
Sorry I'm also not a believer in safe rooms for snowflakes but I'll take my 2 year warranty (maybe worthless..) from a manufacturer half way around the world and pay only $200 plus shipping on this group buy!
Svana, thank you again for putting this together and all your efforts. I'm in for awing - both the netting and walls, no way would I pay retail or even close for these but I'm very happy with what you've negotiated!!
BTW, the local/internet dealer stocks the poles and few other "breakage" items for the Fox awning too. Whatever floats your boat.......
I appreciate the vote of confidence from all of you folks. It really does mean a lot. I wanted to confirm with you though that it's a 1 year warranty, not 2. Either way, I also agree with your school of thought on the matter.

Guys (and gals), as much as it pains me to say, I'm going to have to shut this down. I've had way too many folks doing the dance around being in, out, getting refunds, even after I put in the estimate. The import cost because of it is just continuing to rise per unit and I won't do another round of back-and-forth. I'll be refunding all of the paypal folks here over the next couple days. If you don't have it posted by EOD Friday, let me know and I'll double check from my end. I'm REALLY sorry about giving you guys the runaround on it - there were just too many variables that wouldn't allow the order fluctuation to be appropriately back-filled.
If I were to lend any advice to anybody trying to import a group buy:
Keep it to one item only. The wall situation severely altered the ability to equally subdivide the orders for shipping purposes.
Determine a certain amount to order and cap it accordingly. You can inquire about the total costs upfront and won't have to worry about how varying order numbers will affect cost.
Most importantly: RECEIVE THE MONEY UPFRONT! If stick to the above factors you'll know the total costs and operate under the "money talks, bs walks" premise. The biggest downfall here was folks saying they were in and then flaking.
I hope I was able to be as upfront as possible with the whole situation, unfortunately things can take a wrong turn. Again, I'm sorry that it wasn't able to play out.

Just got the refund, thank you very much for your efforts, I'm bummed this couldn't go through but I'll be ordering a standard single sided awning... Again I greatly appreciate the effort you put forth. Would have been awesome but it's not the end of the world.
